Fair enough, but I think he has a unique and clever use of the English language that is interesting, engaging and makes him stand out from the crowd. I think he uses it to great effect in his stand up... not sure about question time though, as that's not comedy so a completely different arena.

And also, which was the point of my post, we have a diverse comedy scene in the Uk, and along with Bill Bailey, Lee Evans, Eddie Izzard, Stewart Lee and all the others I mentioned, I do feel Russell Brand has his place and is worthy of air time, even if he's not one of my personal favourites.

And it works for his comedy routine. His stand-up and I'd add his acting is really funny. It's just a pity that he can't switch the whole routine off when he decides to appear on serious programmes and in serious situations like Question Time and the Houses of Parliament because he isn't a stupid bloke, he has a perspective unique to people who normally appear there and he has a high profile - he could really do some good on those issues.

I suppose the thing with Python is that like all "cutting edge" or new style comedy it ages very badly when watched years or decades later in a different context and with a period of changing cultural influences in between. I remember watching the Young Ones when it first came out in the 80s and it was piss funny hilarious, it was so different and original and outlandish. Couple of decades later and I tried to watch it again last year and dear Christ it was the worst piece of unfunny shit I've ever seen! :|

Having said that I still find The Life of Brian quite amusing but the Python TV show? Not so much...

The python films are far funnier than the sketches, both Life of Brian and Holy Grail are masterpieces of comedy in my opinion.

People who either talk or text on their mobiles whilst walking along - and rather than either looking where they are going or actually standing still - Bump into everyone - including the elderly - or as in happened this morning - right SMACK BANG INTO A BLIND PERSON AND STEPPING ON THE GUIDE DOG....

OH! YEAH! FOR SURE I SAW IT HAPPEN... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

And so when I went to help the blind person ( a woman in heer 50's stand up etc - I then turned on the Gobshyte c*nt who believe it or not was more worried about their iPhone that had a 'scratch' -

Explaining VERY Loudly that if they were incapable of talking and walking simultaneously to take themselves to the nearest train station and throw their F*CKWIT Self under the nearest express train...

This F*ckWit then looked at me as if I were in the wrong....

The blind person was really shaken by all this and the dog limping....so she asked the person to draw closer as she wanted to tell them something...this F*CKWIT Idjit - still wiping the face of his iPhone - started to (half) mumblesome kind of apology - when she hit him with a haymaker - It was so enjoyable to watch.....I laughed out loud along with another number of people embroiled in the incident - and then another woman told this twat in no uncertain terms - If she saw him again and he was on his hone she would "Smash The F*ckin' Thing To Pieces'...

I did ask if anyone else thought he should be hanged from the nearby street lighting at which point he (literally) ran away...

He's a "MARKED" c.unt.

To add to OneBard, it's people who use their phone/phablet/tabet whilst on a Boris Bike.

Not proper cyclists, just idiots who think it is fun to dawdle-peddle all over the road whilst not even looking at the road.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Road humps.
Do these really improve safety, or just damage your lower back and car's suspension?

Folk who sing "political songs" at football.

My Scottish team are Celtic and the amount of shyte that gets sung at games winds me the fuck up.

I couldnt give a fuck about Bobby Sands, the IRA or King Billy, 1690 and the Pope.

At least on this side of the border you dont have to put up with all this nonsense.
