Elvis' song is something fostered on the fans by the club, it wasn't popularised at all by the fans. Therefore it can never be our 'anthem'.

It's not as embarassing as the tannoy bloke reading out the team with the second name being 'shouted' out by the fans as if we're all 8 years old or summit! What a load of bollocks. Utterly embarassing & totally cringe-worthy. Part of the reason I don't do home games anymore.....

They do that at the San Siro, too....

although, when they do it for AC Milan games, the ultra's shout the surname of each player in such numbers, and with such enthusiasm and ferocity, that the names Flamini, Ronaldinho and Kaka are still reverberating around your skull, a good minute or 2 into the first half! so - if done properly - it is effective!

Cant exactly see the emirates turning out like the san siro though, if i remember rite, when i was out there for the champions league last year we got to the ground like 2 hours early expecting to be the only ones there, but there was like 10,000 ultras already in there seats! crazy

Because it is part of a show - they do this in Germany as well.

It is not "British" and this kind of show has never been part of our football culture.

I wish we would stop having these things foisted upon us.

i think it could potentially work if you ahd fans in the stadium that actually chanted and sang. Its effective in germany adn italy cos they have more 'real fans' in the stnad.

the other more obvious problem is we have a pratt for a PA announcer who cant get the names right half the time!!

It's not "British" and it feels forced upon us... and for that reason, I doubt it'll ever catch on.

Oh I didn't realise thats where it originated. Sometimes Its best not to copy things though aint it?! Especially when our home crowd is nothing like Milans!! What's wrong with them just coming onto the pitch they way they used to at Highbury?!! All this "EMIRATES STADIUM, ARE YOU REAAAADDDDYYY?" It's ***** and it aint us.
