OFFICIAL: CESC NEW CAPTAIN

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

First off well done cesc.

Im a bit worried about it to be honest. As many posters have said what we need is a respected player, who can give a bollocking to the team. I just cant see fabs going in at half time and giving the team a rollicking, im sure this is something galas did but if your team mates don’t respect or listen to you what good does it do…remember this embarrassing moment

God they look inspired don’t they
The captaincy will add to the pressure on cesc, but lets hope he uses this as a springboard for his season.

Good Luck Skipper

Should Gallas play against Kiev, the attention on Cesc's promotion to the captancy will be somewhat cooled, relieving some of the expected pressure on him, not that he can't handle pressure at such a young age but given his poor performances this season his confidence needs a boost. I'm pleased he's been handed the armband permanently, purely because there is no one else right now with the qualities to make it as captain.
