As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Lehmann commanded his box miles better than Almunia and for me he had that big game presence that reassured the team in front of him.
Any attempt to place Almunia even close to Lehmann is an insult.
Kevinho, we are talking about the same Lehmann who in the dressing room after a defeat to Liverpool, (Mellor last min)
blamed everyone else on the pitch except himself, the guy who when we were 2-1 up and winning the title at the Lane contrived to hoik Keane round the neck and give a penner a way?
That same guy, who has very little legendary status?
Now G88ner you're finally talking sense. I reckon he'll be expensive but should perform a few miracles for us. unfortunately aw reckons he's too old at 33.
But when he comes back from the dead he will be like a new signing

Yes, he would perform a few miracles, but what fucking use is a few extra loafs and fishes when you have Eboue in your team?!
As for walking on water... Bergkamp did that for years!

He had no chance with the goals at Anfield that day, both Alonso & Mellor should have been closed down before they struck so I make Lehmann right there.
At the shithole on that occasion Jens was the victim of another no-name ref who wanted his name in lights; that was a 50-50 tussle between Keane & Lehmann; no pen.
Agree that he is more cult hero than legend but he was still 50,000 times better than Almunia was before, is now and ever will be.

Lehmann not a legend? Goalkeeper in all the 49 game unbeaten run,The Invincible season,10 clean sheets on the run to Paris.A blinder in Cardiff 2005.Almunia couldnt help him put his gloves on
On the frustration of not getting any points from the match…
"Football is unpredictable. I believe this team we lack some confidence and maturity and experience when we were in moments where we were not under panic at all. We assess wrongly two situations. The first one was nobody, Rooney, was no danger to score, there was no need to panic. And on the second one as well. On the second own goal, there was not one player of Man United on their place, so it’s lack of communication and still little bit I feel in these situations that we might be lacking a little bit of experience."

I for one certainly remember a different keeper. Like the one who used to rush off his line and get lobbed more than Seaman. The one who hanged Keane at The Lane in the 90th min causing us to draw 2-2 instead of really winning at the Lane.
Black Canary has more legendary status in my eyes than Jens.

He did well in CL semi final 1st leg last season...Yes we all do remember. How many games did he play well for us? I can't remember more than 5 to be honest!!
I believe most ppl here have the same thought that he is an average keeper, but simply a keeper for a club like us wants to win trophy, he is not good enough. He is not so good in the air, makes doggy mistakes in big games, always hesitate to come out to get the ball even though it's clearly a keeper's ball...I just have enough with him...
