England 2018 World Cup bid

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

SSN left with huge egg on their faces,They were creaming themselves all morning about the presentation of Cameron Beckham and Willie forgetting that most of the delegates had made their decesion a while ago.

Not quite but even more ridiculous.

They'll build the stadia....then knock them down for 3rd world countries. No mention of re-building. I presume there sending them the rubble.

Technically, that's fly tipping!

Our bid was a joke from the start, I don't know why anyone is surprised. It's true that FIFA has corruption levels to rival the mafia but 18 months of squabbling at the kindergarten that is the English FA undoubtedly bought the bid down from the inside.

Tbh, I don't really care who got it. International football is shite & I wouldn't have gone to a match if the WC had been down my street or in Timbuktu.

Rumour that Linekar is going to quit the BBC in protest to the damage the Panorama program had on the bid

can't wait to see the shambles of a world cup in 2018. FIFA will still be counting their money but hopefully something dramatic will happen so that FIFA can realise the mistake they made :banghead:
