I was furious that another tradition appeared to have gone. So much so that I wrote to the club. Below is their reply:-
Dear Supporter,
Thank you for your email. This does indeed remain an Arsenal tradition, but last Sunday at Anfield, Emmanuel Eboue took to the field in long sleeves in the second-half due to reasons beyond the Club’s control.
Each player has two short-sleeved shirts, and two long-sleeved shirts for each game. It is then down to the captain of the day to choose what shirts the team will wear for that match. William Gallas selected short sleeves for the Liverpool match, which the whole team wore for the first-half. Most players choose to wear a fresh shirt for the second-half, but Eboue’s second short-sleeve shirt had unfortunately been damaged, meaning he had to revert to a long-sleeve top for the remaining 45 minutes.
Regards
Arsenal Football Club
A bit of a bollocks answer really. All they had to do was tell the useless prick that he couldn't change his shirt. Oh dear, 90 whole minutes with only one shirt......poor little dear!
