Man City (H) CC Thread
I think its great by the club to continue with the always priced carling cup games £10. Why should we increase because the billionaires are in town? I cant see how that and Wenger not being bothered are linked in anyway at all....Red Member:
as seems likely and we pretty much change the entire team from Saturday (added to the fact that it is only £10 entry tonight) I don't think Wenger is particularly bothered about tonight.
given our league position he is probably right but it is about time he stated that the club's ambitions are to win trophies again and not just finish in the top 4.

I do. I think Wenger will field a strong back four. Strong being a relative term to our teamrigsby wrote:Our midfield might be slightly handy this evening. Arshavin/Benny/Ox/Frimpong could be a handful. Defence is a problem but it'll be nice to see if someone like Miquel (who I've always quite liked) does against someone of quality.
Anyone think Kos might play?

I have predicted:
CF: Chamakh
LWF: Arshavin
RWF: Benayoun
AMF: Diaby
CMF: Rosicky
DMF: Song
Santos/Verm/Kos/Djourou

Wenger said he would leave out players suffering from fatigue or a minor injury, so we must assume the useless bastard is injured, he certainly can't be suffering from fatigue.SteveO 35 wrote:Me too. Anyone want my ticket ?Barriecuda wrote:Left back in the change room =\Boomer wrote:Tonights Squad:

Seeing as we are expected to get pumped tonight anything else is a bonus.
I am quite relaxed about tonight and hopefully we'll get a chance to see more of the Ox who has impressed me thus far (I'd quite like to see him ahead of Walcott and at the very least Arshavin in the pecking order).
Its a chance for the young guys to go and test themselves against the best team in the league.
Its one of only 2 trophies we could win and we've put out a weakened team. if only our squad was stronger we could compete for this trophy.
Still, hopefully we put on a good show tonight- its all we can really ask from what we've got.

but as far as I'm concerned Theo has been our 2nd best player this season
absolutely key
At last he's taking on his responsibilities defensively and providing end product - I've been a real critic but think already this season he looks massively improved.
I can see the cynical view - form flying as contract negotiations start
but the idea of dropping him is SOOO far away from my thinking right now I was surprised to even hear somebody suggest it
Yep, I think you're right Red. In some ways I'm glad that we're resting our best players for the League games.Red Member wrote:so Diaby is first choice for Wigan????
We've missed Abou for long enough and look where it's got us in the League. We need to nurse him back gradually if we want to see more of those defence splitting passes such as the one on the last day of last season. Can't afford Abou out again

Diaby is injured! Wenger said this the other day.
[Edit] Found it.....
on Abou Diaby…
The only thing we have to check is if Diaby is out for tomorrow. He has an MRI scan today and we'll see what's going on in his hamstring.

surely if Vermaelen is in the squad then he will start?
maybe he will play LB and captain the side.
intresting that Gervinho is in the squad too and considering he didnt play on Saturday he may get a start.
if so this is a better line up than I had expected.
good stuff
ok I am off to the pub along with my now usual pre match visit to the Armoury
and I think I better try one of those jumbo hot dogs they sell at the ground as well
