Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
In my opinion the main benefit of having a season ticket has been and always will be the chance to purchase cup final tickets. Like many others I missed out on Paris 06, Cardiff 05 and The tragedy at Wembley last season and each time I would have given anything to get to the game. In 2012, Arsenal are no longer a cup team. The FA Cup is disposed of as quickly as possible, the CC averages a semi-final exit most years and in 07 he even played the kids in the final and we simply don't possess the quality or mentality to achieve success in the Champions League.
Therefore the only competition we seriously 'compete' in is the PL. A tournament in which even a Red membership guarantees you entry to every game with 3000 tickets reserved for that level and the Silver being an oyster card to the Emirates. As has long been said Arsenal want as many day trippers in the stadium as possible to buy merchandise, over-priced food etc. Why outlay £1200 on average when a Silver will offer the same benefit albeit you wont make 5 or 6 away games a season due to no away credits counting for silvers.
The Club know they can rip us off and get away with it. We pay scandalous prices to watch average below quality players and will continue to do so!

I have said this lots of times on here that people should not renew their season tickets if they are unhappy with things as they are

Wouldn’t say it’s pointless. Granted we don’t get to many cup finals but who is to say it will always be like that.
More importantly if I didn’t have a season ticket I would be forced to spend £70 for a so called “a game” being Citeh, Manu, Scum and Chavs!! Then be forced to sit down and sit with muppets that eat hotdogs.
Thank god I have my season ticket to be honest. I am situated with all my mates every game and we can pretty much do what we want.
In addition to this I have 30+ away credits so I can go any game I like home or away. Can also sell any game I wish , even the small pointless games due to where my season ticket is situated.
If I had the choice of paying £50 or £70 to go in the upper tier or anywhere in the whole ground where I have to sit I would rather stay in the pub and watch the game.
End of the day a season ticket gives you much more flexibility and power than a silver or a red membership.

Fair enough Mikey.
I wouldnt pay £70 + for a PL category A game either on principle. Not that I couldnt afford it but I dont see that it represents value for money and it is an example of the club ripping fans off.
the reasons you give also highlight why I am on the silver wating list. The only reason I can think of having a season ticket is that you want to sit next to the same group of people every match.

I think it depends where you have your season ticket too. Obviously block 5 and 6 means your with your mates every week and also enables you to sell any game you like. Every time I sell a game I put that towards next years season ticket
Problem with silver is that you cant build credits to go aways. Main reason I have my season ticket is for away games. Go back to 2004 and you would be begging for a season ticket , especially with 30 credits!
Despite them taking the piss there are far more pros than cons.
Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
Why are the club not telling us the information about cheaper tickets now? I am a silver member and think the 15% increase this season is a joke. Does anyone know what offers might be? I bet £5 league cup tickets or such like

There'll be a 3-tiered price structure. We'll certainly pay a bit less (I'd say around £30 + booking fees...) against the likes of Bolton, Wigan or Sunderland but "top games" will be far more expensive (I'd say around £150 with a free hot dog). At least that's what I understand.snips1982 wrote:Why are the club not telling us the information about cheaper tickets now? I am a silver member and think the 15% increase this season is a joke. And there'll be an increase of £1 on everything before the season starts, "to finance the nice gesture we're making towards silver members"mikeyb772001 wrote:Chips and Chocolate wrote:There'll be a 3-tiered price structure. Re: cost of Silver membership goes up again
More info has been released: Can't wait for my £1 discount if I book in the correct period!
At the end of last season the Club announced that it was starting a strategic review of ticketing and that all areas of our policies and products would be reviewed. The Club committed to consult with both supporters’ groups and industry experts.
From the start of next season we will expand our ticket grading system for matches and introduce “C” grade home matches to the current A and B grading. As we are not yet aware of the outcome of the 2011/2012 season we are unable to confirm which teams sit in each grade and the prices of tickets for each category. Further information and confirmation of match grades will be released towards the start of next season.
How do I benefit?
As a Silver level member the benefit of this new grading system will be apparent when purchasing a home match category C grade ticket. When purchasing from this new ticket grade level you will be paying less than a Category B game this season.
From next season, when you purchase a ticket in your advertised Silver membership priority ticket purchase window you will receive a discount on our standard advertised ticket price.

So after 'consulting 'Supporters groups and industry experts' THAT'S the best they could come up with?
