Re: Manure v Arsenal
you're 'not biting'?
I think we can win, nobody is suggesting we definitely will.
ManUre will only score from throwing crosses into the box or a moment of vanStaplecunt genius.
Actually I can see DutchJudas getting a red (or deserving one and being let off).
We will dominate possession. I hope Santi or Jack can make that count - hardly an impossible dream.
This is not Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham - we can take control of this game.
Of course we can 'control' the ball and still lose, probably the most likely outcome, but no reason to give up all hope...
Our midfield can be the best in the league. No team in this Prem is that strong.
Winning the tile is of course an outside bet. We would need luck with injuries + good signings but of course it can be done.

Re: Manure v Arsenal
a win could be the worst result possible, tbh. we all know we are sh*t, it will be the same as the wins over chelsea and spurs last year. i knew at the time they were meaningless, just would lead to the groundhog day of 4th place. those results just papered over the glaring cracks and gave the powers that be an akbs excuses. as would a vicorty at old trafford. those who are hiding there akb'ity at the moment will come out in force if we winn only to retreat as things go back to normal.
the only way things might change for us is if we plumb the depths, and the board/manager are forced into action.
a victory at ot just means same old same old, no need to change, we are close blah blah blah crap.
i would like it to be a draw as i cant stand losing to them, but a win would just hide the reality from the sheep.

Re: Manure v Arsenal
in principal I disagree with wanting your own team to lose.
but in our current situation - sponsorship deals to be renewed in 2014 - dropping out of the CL would be disastrous.
Even if you want Wenger to go
wanting the next manager to have no money seems to me foolish in the extreme..

I have argued for weeks that this is a title race that will be between both manc clubs only - both are stuttering along and are only 1 pt off the lead but with their squads you know that when they start to fire on all cylinders then everybody else will be left in their wake
The chavs, if they get falcao will put in a fight for a while but when their lightweight attacking trio start to feel the fatigue (and they will with no xmas break) and that allied with their defensive vunerability will see them fade away. We on the other hand have problems at the keepers position, left back position and the striking position plus we have an inept and clueless manager so in my opinion we could win 8-2 on saturday and we will still be nowhere near being involved in the title race

Re: Manure v Arsenal
how can our midfield be the best in the league? we have no ball winniign box to box defensive player. artata isnt he can do the job but isnt his preferred role.
title outside bet? what with 1 genuine striker who happens to be the french lee chapman? seriously outside bet? come on the chances of us wining the title this year are nil and we all know that.

the commerical deals will be impacted minimally by our success. look at liverpool, look at spurs, both far less successful than us yet get massive deals in comparison (yes i know the warior deal was a new manufacturer trying to make a name, but explain the SC one then??)

Re: Manure v Arsenal
'in comparison' to us is meaningless
our deals were front loaded ages ago in a totally different market
to maximise the revenue from sponsorship we obviously need to be in the CL

luckily Wilshere is English - little bit harder to just foul out of a TV game

Re: Manure v Arsenal
in historical success terms Liverpool are one of the UK's big two clubs
they're HUGE in Asia, which is probably more important. They have big national and international support.
We are essentially a London club. It's only the Prem boom that has garnered us an international profile.
But the CL is still key - not the greatest kickoff times for Asia but Europe itself is a huge market.
The Americas are becoming more and more important - and CL is obviously #1 competition in that market.
To justify a best of the best sponsor we HAVE to be in it.

Have we got any 17 year olds we can throw in like last season just to ensure their confidence is properly shattered before their careers have begun ?
