From here to New Year
Re: From here to New Year
Without looking at other teams fixtures I am going with 7th - we have a nice easy run of fixtures coming up which will lift us into 5th or 6th only to see us combust in jan when we face those nightmare 3 games in a row
In all likelihood we will also be gone out of the fa cup by then so confidence and morale will be the lowest it has been for many a year. Really it is hard to look forward with any degree of confidence isnt it ?

Re: From here to New Year
Jesus Augie, have you been on the wacky fucking baccy, I would say 11th at best. We are in free fall, and don't look like we will win a game between now and January. I can't see a single easy fixture for this lot never mind a run of them.augie wrote:Without looking at other teams fixtures I am going with 7th - we have a nice easy run of fixtures coming up which will lift us into 5th or 6th only to see us combust in jan when we face those nightmare 3 games in a rowIn all likelihood we will also be gone out of the fa cup by then so confidence and morale will be the lowest it has been for many a year. Re: From here to New Year
....and there was I predicting top 3.
The great Frank McLintock has just said on the wireless that he hates the excuse being used that the players are tired, and after just 15 games. "I played 79 consecutive games one year." He also said that "last season Van Persie's form was just papering over the cracks, and we also need more leaders on the pitch, and that Diaby should not look to dribble the ball out of the box."
Good old Frankie.

Sid havent you seen all this before? Its groundhog day in every way. We will do just enough to lift the pressure on Wenger then we'll fall apart, then have a couple of good results and Patrick Barclay will tell us all we're lucky to have Wenger and it all starts again.......... Sid we have a manager that has seriously lost his way and needs to be replaced and we have some seriously average/shit players but we are a better team than we are showing and a run of games against bradford (league cup I know but a win will help morale),reading, wigan and the shammers could see us obtain maximum points there even though wigan and reading are both away and should we beat the baggies this weekend then wenger, the players and the media (and some knobhead fans) will believe that we are contenders again

This thread is serious jéjà vu. Same shit last season.

Re: From here to New Year
I think you're wrong lads, this time it feels different, we don't have rvp's goals to get us out of this mess, Wenger is continuing to play Podolski and others out of position, he continues to play the awful Gervinho, Ramsey will probably start against the baggies, and I disagree Augie we won't beat the baggies, or Wigan or Reading.DB10GOONER wrote:This exactly ^flash gunner wrote:Sid havent you seen all this before? I really really can't see how he will turn it around this time. By January Everton and the spuds and possibly a few others will be out of sight.
Next week's game against wba is absolutley huge, lose and I think he will crack completely.

Re: From here to New Year
Just wanted to bump this thread. I expected 29 - 35 points from those games. We have 19 pts with two games to play. Even if we win those, it is still way below what I anticipated.
Well done the majority for predicting 5/6th, though it might still be 7th yet.

Re: From here to New Year
I think we will finish 7th, not 11th as I earlier predicted, this isn't due to us being better than I thought but because the likes of Newcastle haven't been able to repeat their form of last season.
1 Citeh
2.Utd
3.Chavs
4.L'pool (our only hope of the spuds not making clge)
5.Spuds
6.Everton
7.Wenger's Arsenal

Re: From here to New Year
I fully expect us to beat the shammers but should we fail to do so then it is quite likely that we will finish the month of january in 7th or 8th place
A defeat to the victims will put them above us if we dont beat fat sam's rabble and that doesnt bare thinking about when you consider how shite they are this season
On top of that, swansea finish the month with a game v the mackems and you would fancy them to win that so they too would be above us then
Anyway as I said above, I do expect us to win wednesday night but failure to do so would heap huge pressure on the game v the scousers

Re: From here to New Year
Exactly how I see the top 7 although injuries to either Wilshere or Walcott and I would say that Swansea have still got a chance of taking 7th. How many spots do English teams get in the Europa League, because I want our owners and Wenger to suffer the humiliation of playing Thursday night football in front of a half empty bowl next season.goonersid wrote:I think we will finish 7th, not 11th as I earlier predicted, this isn't due to us being better than I thought but because the likes of Newcastle haven't been able to repeat their form of last season.

I thought it was 3 places - 1 League spot, 1 League Cup winner and 1 FA Cup winner. Normally that becomes 3 league placings as a top four club wins the cups but if Swansea knock out the Chavs in the League Cup that will mean down to sixth spot in the league I presume (assuming a top 4 team wins the FA Cup...or maybe it goes to the runners up)
Cue wild celebrations if we scrape 6th place at St James Park and qualify for the Europa League
Gazidis will have a serious call to make about season tickets if its the Europa League. If they keep the prices as high as they are or worse still raise them and they say that the cup credits are for the Europa League (including the shitey qualifiers / group stage) I wonder what the renewal rate will be

Re: From here to New Year
No worries Steve0. If we were to lose either Wilshere or Walcott we still have Abou to ensure a CL spot for us mate.
