Hi,
third leg is over. BVB, Leverkusen, Bayern, Mainz on top all with 9 points, all games won. Stuttgart and Braunschweig the only teams without points, but also Schalke and Hamburg with an upsetting one point start.

Stuttgart terminated their coach Labbadia after only three bundesliga games played today

Fourth leg will start already Tuesday with Freiburg taking on Bayern, because Bayern has to play Chelsea on Friday in the so called 'Supercup' Champions league winner against European league winner.

Btw why are so many teams called Borussia? Is it like "United"?
Watched Juventus beat Lazio 4-1 which was excellent as I dislike Lazio (political reasons). Pogba must be the best young midfielder around & they are looking good. Tevez is looking a great signing for them too. Llorente didn't play for a whole season due to the Basque Sulk from Athletic, now he's going to battle to get game time at Juve. Pity we couldn't have got him on loan at least but they probably reckon we owe them one for having sent Bendtner over there!
Re: German Bundesliga and other Foreign Leagues Thread
letting pogba go was one of bacon faces biggest mistakes at united. also watched that game, long gone are the days of seria a being a defenders playground, lazio were absolutely awful.

He didn't 'let him go'. The player wanted to leave to join Juve so didn't sign the new contract United offered him. Ferguson did not want to lose the player.
Re: German Bundesliga and other Foreign Leagues Thread
well he effectively did let him go, brought back an ageing scholes, played giggs, that fat brasilian and even rafeal ahead of him in midfield.

Re: German Bundesliga and other Foreign Leagues Thread
Yeah he didn't flog him off intentionally, but he did 'let him go' in the sense that his refusal to give him first team football was always likely to push him away. I appreciate United were too good to be throwing him in as a regular at 18 but bringing Scholes back and continuing to play Giggs there was a massive statement of no confidence in him, as well as persisting with Anderson even though he's cack. On top of this Cleverley played more than twice as many games as Pogba in 11/12 even though Cleverley was injured for most of the year and is fucking bang average.I Hate Hleb wrote:He didn't 'let him go'. Doesn't take a genius to see why Pogba got pissed off and upped sticks. Greed quite probably paid some part but it's not like he had any assurances of real first-team opportunities going forward at United and on the pitch you'd have to say he was vindicated.

On the contrary he was given assurances about playing more regularly the following season but still chose to go. You are right though, it doesn't take a genius to work out why he left - and it wasn't to get 'more playing time'!!

Quote from Ferguson before 2011/12 season: "I mean if we hold Pogba back, what's going to happen? He's going to leave. You know, in a couple of years’ time when his contract is going to finish. So we have to give him the opportunity to see how he can do in the first-team and he's got great ability". How many times did he play that year? 3 League Cup games, 3 PL games and 1 EL game (most if not all off the bench).I Hate Hleb wrote:On the contrary he was given assurances about playing more regularly the following season but still chose to go. Playing Giggs, Scholes and Cleverley (amongst others) ahead of him every week. Given that Ferguson had decided to give Scholes and Giggs yet another new deal and Cleverley was unlikely to be injured for half the season again I don't blame Pogba for not believing Ferguson's assurances - and frankly Ferguson would be an idiot if he didn't try and convince him he'd be playing more.
Re: German Bundesliga and other Foreign Leagues Thread
No it's not like United... Thomas should have the better answer to that. Borussia is the Latin word for Prussia, so there's some referrence to german history, with most clubs at the time (around 1900) were founded by prussian civil servants, in Dortmunds case however it was in referrence to a beer/brewery called Borussia (don't know if it's true, just looked it up at wikiSam59 wrote: Oh good, a team to dislike at last.
