Nacho
Re: Nacho
He has improved hugely in anticipation, and his forward play is good , frankly I'd have him playing left sided midfield in the system we now have .
BUT his defensive abilities are still poor from set pieces and he has no pace down the flank .
In big games better teams will exploit this !

Re: Nacho
He reminds me of Lee Dixon, just gets on with the job without people realising just how good he is. Still rather see Gibbs play and develop his game in the way Nacho has done. Could do with a bit more fight in his game, but could say that about the whole squad.

Signed a new contract today. Fair play to the lad been one of our most consistent players this year
He's come a long way considering some of the posts at this point last year at the start of the thread (not that I disagreed with any of them!)

Re: Nacho
Why does it seem to take most of the signings over the past decade at least 2 years before we start seeing - if ever - their best form (1 or 2 obvious examples excluded)?
Given that should we only expect to see the best of Welbeck next season and Mohamed Elneny in 2018-19?
Mind you, if we are following that theory, what date do you think we should put on Walcott?

Re: Nacho
Great news on the contract extension, by some distance the best LB in the league for the past 12 months, Mr. Consistency himself.

Re: Nacho
Happy with this one. One of the few that actually deserve an extension.
Re: Nacho
Good news. He was Mr Consistent last season as well. Glad to see him continue in the same vein.

Re: Nacho
Well earned. Delighted to be proved completely wrong on him.
Forget full backs who bomb forward with no end product and are shit defenders (Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw etc), fantastic to have a defender who can defend!

I'm a bit worried about Bellerin though

Now I get it...the old Rosicky trick. Now he'll probably go back to his previous.

Re: Nacho
I've been impressed with the improvement he's shown since joining us, but just like Bellerin he is still too easily drawn out of position. Ultimately I blame the 'Coach of Decade' for doing nothing about it, I've watched many a game where the opposition has used width the exploit our frailties. As for being World Class I think that shows how the overall quality of full-backs has deteriorated over the years & how the focus has moved away from defending.
