Look, Liverpool are a special club ok, just accept it. You had your chance to support them but you picked wrong and chose Arsenal, you'll just have to get on with it.Bradywasking wrote:Seriously Dortmund are the new Arsenal, they were so in control at 2-0 anything but a comfortable win was criminal.
May have been a great game but it was a horrible watch for neutrals as any objectivity was never happening.
How Michael Owen can earn a living as a pundit is beyond me..He is a clueless biased tosser. Towards the club he was happy to leave and happier to play for their hated rivals.
The whole Hillsborough thing again and the "special relationship" between both sets of fans was nauseating. I respect Hillsborough ad the families of the dead but stop milking it..If there was that relationship between the fans why did a Liverpool player find it necessary to taunt the Dortmund fans at full time.?
Sakho clearly and deliberately held the Dortmund defender to allow Lovern a free header for the winner..fair play he got away with it but it was a foul.
I am a bitter man when it comes to Liverpool and their on/off fans in this City. They did rescue a lost cause last night that Arsenal wouldn't have.. But why has everything they do have to have Hillsborough and Istanbul references?

ITV had the highlights of the match and showed every second of the minutes silence..........wtf was that all about ? How does that constitute a "highlight" of a game with 7 goals in it ?? I am sick to the bollox of Hillsborough being shoved down our necks every f.ucking year

Just out of interest, when are they holding their minute's silence for Heysel this year?augie wrote:Bradywasking wrote:Seriously Dortmund are the new Arsenal, they were so in control at 2-0 anything but a comfortable win was criminal.

Re: Champions League
CL semi-final draw:
Man City vs Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich
So what do we reckon, Guardiola to underline his status by winning a third CL, or will Simeone, Zidane (who had managed "zero games" until a few months ago) or Pellegrini (who is almost as tactically clueless as Wenger) do what Wenger has never done in 18 attempts?
Pretty good combination of potential finals: a Madrid derby (a chance for Simeone's revenge), the Guardiola derby (Man City vs Bayern Munich), a new winner (Man City vs Atletico Madrid) or a traditional heavyweight clash (Real vs Bayern).

Can't see city getting past RM. I do think Pool could win the Europa League now. Meanwhile, we win a fat nothing.

4 Spanish sides in EL and CL semi-finals

I still to this day find it difficult to comprehend how attending a game of football can lead to the loss of 96 lives.
It takes little out of anyones time to quite correctly remember such a tragedy.
One of the rare occassions when club allegiances are not important.

Re: Champions League
FITB I get your point but in my opinion sadly the hysteria around Hillsbrough has become largely disassociated from the tragedy itself.
96 people going to football and never coming back is horrific. It always will be. But all of these campaigns and seeing JFT96 plastered everywhere and having it rammed down our throats several times a year have little to do with remembrance and even less to do with grieving or respect for the deceased. It is a campaign of bile fuelled by sheer anger and a deep sense of being wronged.

Yeah, and that's including Sevilla knocking out Athletic Club and Ateltico knocking out Barca. Could have been more with different draws.amazonas wrote:4 Spanish sides in EL and CL semi-finals

Any two of those four teams will make a great final.
Real Madrid v Bayern would be my choice.

Agreed wholeheartedly, it really does make me wonder about football supporters mentality and vindictiveness, 96 poor souls died (and a lot of them youngsters) in tragic circumstances and a lot of them very slowly.foxinthebox2001 wrote:Sorry guys, but I am amazed to read such disrespectful posts from fellow gooners.augie wrote:Bradywasking wrote:Seriously Dortmund are the new Arsenal, they were so in control at 2-0 anything but a comfortable win was criminal.

Pretty much sums it up for me too - as a footie fan I was shocked and saddened by the events at Hillsborough, but it is the selective aspect of the scousers memories that piss me off. They have never accepted even the slightest bit of responsibility for the events of the day - it is convenient for them to blame the cops (and maybe they are partially right) but it is also a fact that thousands of the f.uckers turned up late and tried to storm the turnstiles and created the initial crush outside.
The refusal to acknowledge any blame, and their airbrushing heysel out of history, is the main reason why I cannot abide this self righteous/woe is we crap that they carry on with every single f.ucking year

Has absolutely nothing to do with rivalries and is nothing near vindictiveness - problem is people cannot seem to separate the tragedy for those people and their families, from the people who are working off a mandate where they find as many people as possible to blame except from their own fans. Justice for the '96 ?? What justice are they looking for and expecting ? If the old bill stood up now and said "it was all our fault", would the "justice for 96" campaign cease to exist ? Not a f.ucking fear and we all know it. Just a few short weeks after that tragedy, they were filmed helping ticketless scousers into Wembley for the cup final through windows - if another crush had of happened due to overcrowding, whose fault would that have been ? Didn't see too many scousers show outrage at their fellow fans did we ?

Pathetic Augie and you know it you're talking about a tiny minority but you've also just confirmed that you're overall hatred of pool fans is driving your argument and you do have a history of this behaviour.augie wrote:LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Agreed wholeheartedly, it really does make me wonder about football supporters mentality and vindictiveness, 96 poor souls died (and a lot of them youngsters) in tragic circumstances and a lot of them very slowly.foxinthebox2001 wrote:Sorry guys, but I am amazed to read such disrespectful posts from fellow gooners.augie wrote:Bradywasking wrote:Seriously Dortmund are the new Arsenal, they were so in control at 2-0 anything but a comfortable win was criminal.

Your hatred of Wenger has escalated to the point you no longer give him credit for his tentative years in charge.
