After this interview with Villa, Arsene said:
"We are not in the transfer market for David Villa," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference. "He has said some very complimentary things about us which we take as a big honour. I rate him highly as a player but I will not make concrete investigations for anyone at the moment."
The manager went on: "I feel up front I need to give time to Walcott and Bendtner because they have made big improvement for me this season. Theo is coming on so I need to give them a chance or they will not come out."

The thing is, Cesc is over hyped by the media when it comes to Spain. He isn't that good for them, today was his first ever goal for them. Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc all play in a similar style so for the sake of the balance they didn't play one, and put a less-talented but more defensive-minded Senna. This is what England should do with Fat Frank and Stevie Me
Villa was class today as expected. Some nice touches, great of the ball-off movement (Ade, learn) and most important of all, great finishes. A pity we won't be challenging for him in the summer but hey we are getting used to it
I didn't really expect Russia to win against Spain. I always thought that the matches against Greece and Sweden would be key to progress and anything against Spain would be a bonus. But a thrashing and a defence that hardly knows each other doesn't help. Hiddink should tell the player to forget this defeat and concentrate on the next Greece match
