OFFICAL EURO 08 THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

CLASSIC QUOTE NUMBER 1 of the Euro Championships 2008

Gary Lineker talking about Luca Modric " So have Spurs finally found somebody who can turn them into genuine title contenders?"

Alan Hansen " There gonna need about 15 of them!"

Lovely :D

I care, but it is the Holland, France, Italy, Romania group that interests me most.

Yeah, Modric looked class.

However, I can now see why Wenger didn't sign him, as Modric seems very similar to Fabregas; he likes to dictate the rythmn of play with each attack going through him.
- A team is all about balance, and maybe Wenger feels Modric and Cesc would be stepping on each others toes...and given the choice, i'd prefer Cesc thank you very much

but, yes, Sp*rs seem to have got themselves a good'un

Modric actually reminds me a lot of Rosicky more than Cesc (minus the inability to fart without pulling a hamstring obviously).

You could tell he is a quality player and all but he didnt do enough to warrant being sucked off by the BBC "experts" though. As someone pointed out before his performance against England at Wembley was massively overrated as well. So although I dont doubt the Spuds have got a genuine quality player for a change I dont see any reason to worry too much. And IF Rosicky can actually stay fit for 5 minutes next season I think he's equally as good as Modric.

Yes Jens did do well as usual :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I thought boruc done well in the polish goals too and seeing as he has been mentioned many times on here as a potential successer to jens I would be interested to hear what the rest of ye think. To me he does everything with the minimum of fuss and would be a big upgrade on almunia.

How did everybody think metsacker played cos he has been mentioned on here as a potential target ? He is one big dude - he stood beside jens at the end and made jens look like a midget
