The level of financial and human resources still being ploughed into the Madeleine McCann case. It was a dreadful dreadful event but throwing money at it ain't going to bring her back. The chance of finding her alive is 0 and the chances of solving it have basically gone. Do the police really think that the perpetrator is still hanging round there, waiting to be caught?

Having already thrown £5m at the investigation of a crime that didn't even occur in this country the police are now going to burn more money in Operation Clutching at Straws by pulling and analysing endless mobile phone records.

As I said what happened was truly horrendous, but from general policing to major operations like other child abductions and manhunts there are so many better ways that this money could be used.

What really angers me is the fact that their parents still seem to think it was acceptable to leave their children unattended whilst they went to a restaurant to enjoy a meal and drinks. And believe they have done nothing wrong.
Even on the television the other night the presenter was at pains to point out that the restaurant was less than a minutes walk away.
Were the Mc Canns not a middle class family then they would have been charged with child negligence, but because they are both doctors and were eating in a nice fucking restaurant it is viewed as acceptable.

Energy suppliers.

We still get our electricity and gas from the same cables and pipes. The only difference is who you pay your money to.

We now face a bewildering choice of suppliers and tariffs. There is now a vast army of sales people, admin people, IT people, accountants and highly paid executives. Not to mention the share holders who are expecting a decent profit on their investments. They are all fighting for a share of your money. And all of them are adding to the cost of your energy consumption.

It's also fucking annoying that the publicly owned electricity and gas suppliers were sold into private ownership at a ridiculously undervalued level. Same as water supply and waste treatment. Same as the railway network. Same as the telephone network. Same as Royal Mail.

^^ This. 8)

I think it is appalling child neglect to leave your child in a room in a building in a foreign country while you are off on the piss in another building. Without even line of sight! Christ, I wouldn't leave my kids unattended at home to pop to the shop across the fucking road. What if they had a seizure, or a fall?

You nailed it there sid, if they had been from a council estate in Leeds or Coventry they'd have been hammered for it and probably prosecuted.

Ultimately they are a pair of neglectful selfish wankers. I only feel for their poor innocent lost child.
