So...clap the lads round please.
Ouch, but very true sadly. Villa capitulated.
We have had a disappointing and frustrating season but there is way too much negativity to the extent even when we do achieve somethin it's down to someone else bein more crap than we were, do you think ManUre fans are sayin that???
If L'pool hadn't drawn a shitload of games when they had the chance to show Utd a clean pair of heels or they hadn't failed to capitilise on Utd losing 3 in a row at a time which could've hardly been more critical then the Mancs would not be Champions!
The fact of the matter is this and there is no gettin away from it, we can not currently compete with any of the rest of the top 4 when it comes to transfers and wages, so the only way we stand a chance of success is to try and do it a different way which AW has and everybody knows this or should realise this, especially Gooners!
Now last year we came very very close to winnin the league and how momentous would that have been against Utd and the Chavs and all their financial power, even Stan Collymore who's hardly one of our favourites actually went out of his way on TalkShite to say that he considered AW to be a very unlucky manager!
And think about it how often when it really counts ie FA Cup final (Henchoz) Uefa Cup final (Nayim) Paris (Ref) 50th game (Riley) do we get the rub of the green - things that can turn tight games and seasons nearly always go against us???
AW has made mistakes he has admitted making mistakes, but when you have formulated a plan to succeed you can't give up every time you get a knock particularly when the plan itself requires patience due to the age of the players involved, but that youth and the experience they've gained in the past couple of years will serve the club for years to come and hopefully set the trend for the future!
I think that anyone who thinks that AW should go now needs a reality check about the standard of clubs we finished behind, and remember that he is with out a shadow of a doubt an extremely clever individual, who changed the face of the game in this country forever and when the rest caught up and overtook us purely down to spending money they don't have (which is a compliment in itself) he then tried to stay ahead again by going down the Ajax route!
I believe he will have learned a lot from his "failed experiment" but IMO it is still the direction in which we should be heading to keep the club competitive without bein Chavski, it's just all about getting the balance of the team right, but just as a thought look at Spain for the way a small but quick and skilful team can become world beaters!
I'm sure we ALL feel the pain and disappointment at how this season has turned out, but just as BB has correctly pointed out - 'how often do we get the rub of the green' - and that's not jsut on the pitch - Last season the team gelled in a way that really did take my breath away - we were taking on all comers - and playing the kind of football that has become OUR 'Trademark' - then greedy bollocks flamoney wants out - Hleb bottles it and goes for a quieter life in Barcelona lying TWAT! - and the 'plan' which AW had almost realised - was suddenly shot to pieces - Gilberto went before flamoney did his disappearing act - and so we were left with Mid-field players whom AW thought he had at least another 2 - 3 seasons to get ready....
The brilliance of Adebayor - who was scoring Stunning Goals for fun - suddenly has gone very dim - and IMO part of the reason for that has been the booing he received - Yes, he was a fucking idiot to try and play the transfer / give me more money game, but it's not unusual for a player who is excellent on the pitch, to be less than articulate off the field... - Don't know about you but if my own supporters were booing me - I'm gonna think what the FUCK!? - It's bound to affect his confidence and so his play...
Gallas throws a tantrum - which greatly affects the team's confidence - Just as it did when he spat his dummy out at Birmingham...Cesc is made Captain - then gets injured....Don't know - But I see some sort of pattern / negative cycle developing here! - then just as we get ready for the big games FA Cup/CL semi's gallas is out, the whole defence (except for Kolo) gets injured - and so it goes.....
AW is looking to not only compete NOW! - But to do it in a way where we will have a truly awesome team in the future for years to come - He cannot help it of there are those greedy twat players who fuck up the plan he has put together!
If anyone has told me Song would be candidate for a Top Mid-Field player last season I'd have told em to Fuck Off!...But Look at what's happened - Okay it IS early days...but he realy has stepped up several notches these past two months...
I'm as frustrated and hurt as much as the next Gooner - But I still have Faith in AW and his plan/policy etc.....I bet he's hurting too!
He KNOWS better than any of us the mistakes he has made - he is an intelligent, articulate man - who quite frankly on the budget a tenth the size of the other top 3 has worked miracles and has been doing so for some time - we HAD to move to a bigger ground - We have to pay for that - and go without what the others are hocking their souls for - the Quick Fix and expensive players - I just hope those who have been vitriolic and said all the crap about getting rid of AW or giving him one more year etc - will have the guts to admit their lack of belief and ability to grasp what he (AW) see's and knows is clearly possible....He WILL succeed as will Arsenal!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

There is No One Else Who is capable of managing the club under its present situation - If and when AW goes - the whole style of what we have been priviliged to watch - The Beautiful Game - is gong to change - But the financial constraints will still be there for some time yet....we can only hope that AW does indeed stay on and (eventually) bring in someone who can match his vision and genius, and so take the reigns when he does bow out.
Arsene Wenger knows only too well the mistakes he has made and those forced upon him - he is Under BIG pressure so I would suggest (seeing as he already knows how pissed of some Gooners are) that we get behind him - I try not to turn my back on someone when they're going through the mill and need of support!...but hey! what the fuck do I know!?
