Protest at Stoke game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Protest at Stoke game

Post by donaldo »

It is a tradition that after the final home game of the season the players do a lap of honour at the end of the game.Well this year it should be a lap of shame. As soon as the final whistle goes leave the ground straight away and dont stay for the lap of honour.Let the players walk round to rows of empty seats and let Wenger know what we the fans who pay his wages think of this season.Dont encourage Wenger to believe he has our backing in his failed project of not signing experienced players

And if Greedy happens to play lets give him a good send off

Donaldo you know that I am as angry as anybody over what is happening at the club (especially after wenger's tirade blaming the fans  ) and I do support the idea of some sort of protest but personally I would tweak your plans a bit. I would be afraid that such a protest would send very negative messages to players that do deserve our support (arshavin, sagna, clichy, cesc and a few more) and could even push them towards the exit door and god knows we cannot afford to have any quality players leave when wenger's record of replacing quality has been absolutely diabolical

I do 100% believe that the fans should stay and let the greedy *word censored* know exactly what we think of his "efforts" this year and his all round stinking attitude  I also believe that the fans that wenger pointed the finger at last night should let him know that we aint going to put up with that bullshit either

You walk out then mate, i certainly wont be! MOST of the players in that squad deserve recognition, its only the minority that are not up to it!

Perhaps a nice big banner or 3 could be made & spread out across a good few rows of empty seats during the lap of shame telling Mr C*ntbayor just how highly we rate him. Not just calling him a c*nt, but why he’s a c*nt.

Same as augie I think it would be better to isolate the likes of Adebayor for the abuse cos rightly or wrongly we are getting a reputation for turning on our players & they don’t necessarily distinguish between us slating certain players with good reason or just slating all of them.

A few songs & banners for the players that do deserve our support wouldn’t go amiss, preferably right alongside the Adec*ntslop abuse to show we will (& do) back our players to the hilt if they deserve it.

I think we should protest! but only to certain players! but leaving would send a very clear message to the players and the boss :rebel_2: maybe this!

I'm starting to hate him more and more every day, it's getting unhealthy. I've never despised an Arsenal player before but this cu*t takes the biscuit.

I FUCKING HATE HIM :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

come on get a grip mate... a lot of the players in that team HAVE given there all in a difficult season.

No way would I turn my back on my team in this way.. some people really are losing the plot!!!

I think that they have got the message now just how p'eed off we all are... Now is the time to start getting behind the team again

We all know what needs to be done and so does Wenger so if he doesn't sort it out in the summer then fair enough no excuses.

Lets start by crashing the Mancs party on Saturday!

At least 'Swale Gooner' and 'I am Gooner' have shown a bit of sense here. Some people on this forum seem to spend their whole lives looking for things that they can moan about.

I'm absolutely convinced that there will not be a protest after the Stoke game and as for these banners that people are talking about, I'm quite confident that won't be happening either.

Sorry but that is a silly, crass statement. People are moaning because there is something to moan about!! Have you not watched the team's performances this season? Have you not sat there and wondered what the fuck Wenger's tactics were about? :banghead:

Yep, watched all the teams performances this season thanks, been some poor ones, been some average ones and been some very good ones. So I didn't agree with everything that Wenger decided to do over the course of the whole season, I can deal with that. The very reason you are unhappy is that Wenger has raised the bar at the club so high. Take the situation Wenger took over, if you could imagine that 13 years later people would be quite literally crying their eyes out because we had 'only' reached the semi finals of the European Cup then it shows how far we have come.

People are also quick enough to criticise Chelsea for buying the league and then get annoyed when Wenger wants to build things up long term and not piss all the funds up the way.

I totally agree, you hear so many people claiming they are going to do this and that and it very rarely materialises....GOOD!

I would predict everyone will go to the game, about an eight of the crowd will leave early for half time, at least 2 people around me will spend the game playing on their mobile or reading thie program, a few people will use all their energy singing about Tottenham, then a few people will leave 5 minutes before the end, and the majority will stay behind and clap the team off the pitch, oh and at some point i expect Fabregas will play a host of stray passes which strangely nobody seems to see, but quickly regain their sight just in time for Eboue to mis control it once!

I know what your saying, I think there is PLENTY to moan about fella... and I don't blindly follow the Arsene knows stuff.

There have been major mistakes/failings this season. It's clear that the fans feelings have been made to Arsene. Look at the Q&A last night!

Now we have to hope Wenger will right the wrongs. Some people want to see Wenger out. I personally think that is very short sighted, surely he deserves this summer to bring in the players he feels he needs and have one last fist of it. I know you can't rest on past triumphs but he HAS done a hell of a lot for this club, I hope it dosen't end on a sour note.

To me now we neeo get right behind the team on Saturday because how
can we expect the players to respond if we are gonna throw in the towel!?

BTW lmao at the geezer that called Silvestre geriatric!! How the hell does he get a two year deal when wouldn't give Le bob one! :banghead:
