You'll find a general trend in humanity that age increases pessimism and a perception of decline.DB10GOONER wrote:Wow, you really are the most stupid poster on here, and that's saying something...Aaron Inglis wrote:My opinion of the self proclaimed realists hasn't changed. They slag off nearly everything about the club, Manager, players, other fans, members of the board, shareholders out of ' interest ' and ' concern ' for thier club and are so sure that we won't win anything. On the other hand they claim they'll be happy if they're proved wrong and will no doubt celebrate with the rest of us. How they claim to be Arsenal I don't know.
The truth is they (realists) can't lose, no matter which way the season goes. This shows a serious lack of commitment. ( you know who you are and so do we)
( I can hear them already, ' I'm a season ticket holder, I pay my money, this shows commitment !!!. Bollocks. If someone's fortunate enough to have the money to buy a season ticket then lucky them. But if someone doesn't it doesn't make them less of a fan. IMO)![]()
Why do you so called "rosetinters" take it so personally? It's not about me being more right than you, ya gobshite (although that seems to be your prime motivator); it's about concern for the club. It's no coincidence that most (not all but most) "rosetinters" are from the younger generation that only know the Wenger years. Again - NOT ALL BUT MOST.
Most of the so called "realists" are from the older pre Wenger generation (again MOST, NOT ALL) and we have seen some truly awful times and fear seeing them again.
Lastly - you just make yourself sound like a totalo arsehole with statements like "and will no doubt celebrate with the rest of us. How they claim to be Arsenal I don't know." Who the fuck are you to question anyone's commitment or loyalty? Fuck you. I wonder if you had to sit through the shite of the 70's and 80's would you still be a Gooner?
Loyalty isn't about blindly agreeing with everything the club do or say.
It is nevertheless a perfectly valid position but I just wish it wasnt called "realism" because that, to me, suggests it is the only conclusion that can be rationally deduced, which isnt the case and seems quite patronising to those who believe opposite.
Having said that, Aaron Inglis, you're a twat.

All very true LDB. The term "realist" is a bit silly as is the term "rosetinter" but I suppose we need them to conform with modern society's need to pigeonhole everything. Most people are a bit of each TBH.LDB wrote:You'll find a general trend in humanity that age increases pessimism and a perception of decline.DB10GOONER wrote:Wow, you really are the most stupid poster on here, and that's saying something...Aaron Inglis wrote:My opinion of the self proclaimed realists hasn't changed. Strangely I'm a bit of a rosetinter when I'm watching the Arsenal - at 3 nil down, 2 minutes to go, I'll still be hoping and almost believing we can score 4!!

It's in the cold light of day between games I get more "realistic" or pessimistic.
The thing I can't understand though is why the so called "rosetinters" take it so personally if someone states that a particular Arsenal player has had a bad game or whatever. It makes no sense to me.
TBH it kind of reminds me of kids in a school yard getting upset because some other kid slated their team. Suddenly the personal insults come out. Why can't they accept that other people have a diferent viewpoint?
What really gets on my nerves though is when a knobjockey (yes a personal insult - but he has earned it for numerous reasons on this forum) like aaron inglis questions my loyalty just because I question the club/board/manager etc.

Perfect summation there, 100% agree with it - just as ther term "rosetinters" suggests people like myself see no faults with the team / sqaud / manager etc, which isnt true!!
Although these age generilsations clearly do not apply to everyone it does seem that every rosetinter is treated like a young scally who knows nothing but Wenger, be it true or not...i saw a quote the other along the lines of "a rosetinter but in a good way"........its sad that those with a positive outlook are not always appreciated because if you actually read the posts of some of them properly you will see there is little wind-up material, and a lot of valid points.
