What would appease you for letting Cesc leave the club?
Could the last decent player left in the Emirates please turn out the lights on this ambitionless midtable Spurs-lite club.
Guarantee you the club will do a deal with Cesc and Barca that allows them to pretend that no deal is in the offing till that magic date of June 1st...and we all know why our board might not want to upset us before that date don't we.

If he goes for the £30m/35m being talked about then that’s pretty much what I expected us to settle for but nowhere near what we should be asking. Barca paid £60m for Ibrahimovic a year ago & even after deciding he’s too lazy/inconsistent/overrated etc they’re still trying to flog him for £40m. How in god’s name is Cesc not worth more than Ibrahimovic? Add in the fact they’re getting him at 23, still a few years from his peak & they’ll have him for basically as long as they want him, plus the whole symbolic “homecomingâ€

The guy is our player and contracted for another 4 years. So at the very least do what Fergie did with Ronaldo and quote an absolutely massive price (£70m)!!! Then demand they pay it all up front!!! If they want Cesc that badly they'll pay it. If not, he stays - regardless of what the player 'wants'.

Couldnt agree more, we wont do that, like everyone else I see us settling for around £30 odd million, useless!!I Hate Hleb wrote:Red107 wrote:When Arsenal are asked to name their price they should start taking the piss. Give completely ridiculous prices, Barca will eventually get fed up.

I said something earlier today which in this instance through rose tinted glasses could still be the case....
He said something about sorting out he's future before the WC. Arsene said he wanted to sort out transfers before the WC.
It might be a case of hearing what AW's plans are this summer. (see NBM's teacup storm)
However, the way the media is portraying this (or would like to portray this!) is that he's going.
Side issue.....Didn't I hear Cesc just bought a new house in St. Albans?

Tha's not going to happen, the AW leaving bit I mean.euphoricone wrote:I agree, if Fabregas goes then Wenger should go. His project is over, there has been no success , bring on someone new .
This is how his contract negotiation talks will go in October.
The board will congratulate him for getting £40million plus player for a kid they only paid a tiny nominal fee for. They will go on about how it's the best deal he's done for their pension plans since he got rid of that french kid who wouldn't stop sulking. But just before he signs the new deal, Fizsman will ask how long before he can get young Wishere boy to be the next Rooney as Mrs Fizsman has her eyes on a new wing to the Fiszman mansion in Geneva....and Real Madrid/City/Chavs/Scum want first refusal when we finish midtable nothings AGAIN.....................all tongue in cheek before some tosser mentions lawyers.
I hate our board and unless our manager spends all the money on FIVE
plus Chamakh then time to start actively calling for him step lively the **** out of Arsenal.
That's probably very ungrateful but I'm depressed and pissed off. Just made the mistake of turning on Talk-shite to see if there was any more news on Cesc and that Ginger c**t and that halfwit Darren(I can't string an eloquent sentene together) Gough were saying our season's over before it begins. Don't know what depresses me more, them slagging us off or the fact that they are right.
