Is Chamakh as good as promised?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Last night he was pathetic. Where this myth comes from that he works hard and is a fighter comes from I don't know? More bollocks from Comical Wenger.

Ian Wright worked hard and was a fighter, would you honestly compare this garbage player to Wrighty? Not a chance.

There is about as much fight and work ethic in this guy as wet paper bag.

I'll get torn apart for this post but again, he was hyped as a tough fighter and with an incredible work rate like Tevez or Rooney.

What a load of shite, he is nearly as lazy as Adebyor and up for a fight? What a laugh, he didn't even celebrate vs the y**s as a supposed life long fan.
radford cannot believe the above pile of shit. he wonders if mr irish actually saw the game.
Think I must have been drunk when I posted that.

Chamakh was fucking amazing radders, I agree. Absolutely tore apart the Manc defense and bullied them round the place.

That open goal from 4 yards, well it was an impossible angle to convert wasnt it.

All that running closing down, he deserves a medal of some sort.

Finally, when Rooney kicked him in injury time, the non-reaction was brilliant.

I for one really don't want to see our players stand up the United hackers.

Much rather we cower in fear, we're good at that tbf. Isn't that what you want to see?

I actually started mistaken Chamakh for Wright and Henry lately. The resemblence is similar.
Ok, you were obviously expecting something different to the rest of us.

1) Hes not our Henry, Wright, thats Van Persie. Chamakh is not a replacement for Van Persie.

2) He was free, cost nothing. He already has 10 goals and has played in every match bar one of the carling cup matches. Hence he looks very tired.

He's ok. Not a world beater but he has hit 10 in the first half of the season. If we get 20 out of him it's a good return. It is his first season and a huge step up in quality for him. I'll reserve judgement until we see if he hits 20 this year and then how he performs next season (to see if there is any consistancy).

The RVP comparison is funny. RVP is never fit and thus scores fuck all. How many goals has RVP got this season? How many has an inexperienced (at PL level) Chamakh got? RVP isn't exactly a great stick to beat Chamakh with...
