Well, champions league qualification is a trophy, so I heard, and we might just get that this year. Emirates Cup is another, so that's the double already.

Did we get a trophy for beating Malaysia?

Not sure but i have it from a reliable source that Wenger is going to be pushing hard for the Fairplay Trophy this year :barscarf:

it is you who are not reading my posts.....

.....In which I stated that most of you have different views to mine of which many are valid. I also conceded that it was obvious that most of you think I am wrong which is fine, but I am entitled to my opinion whether you agree or disagree.

I know Wenger has made mistakes but so do all managers including Fergie.

As for the quistion about who has said we should finnish above them I did answer you. What I conceded was that nobody has said that directly but the inference is that we SHOULD, otherwise what are people complaining about?

I also said that to say 'all we want to do is compete' does'nt hold true because we HAVE competed. Just because we come up short in the final reconing does'nt neccessarily mean we havn't been competative. To suggest, as some have, that we havn't been competative is just not true.

I did suggest that if you wanted to know what not being competative really was you should look no further than Spurs and even Liverpool. Given the massive amount of investment on players by both Clubs over the last 5 or so years, the return on that investment has been little short of disgraceful.

Given Chelseas investments on players over the last few years there recent returns on that investment has been poor as well.

So I have tried to answer points raised. As I can see very very few agree with me but thats life.

so by your reckoning 1000 are wrong and 1 is right

so is there any change that the 1000 may be right and the 1 is wrong :?

What about ManU's investment in the last 5 years and their trophies?

Seeing the point raised about CL Qualification being seen as a 'trophy' which it obviously isn't but surely it has/is vital that we qualify for it year in year out.

If over the last 6 years we had won the fa cup twice say and the CC once but failed to qualify for the CL I would see that as a MASSIVE step back.

It may not be a medal and a day out at Wembley but there is no way I would want to swap even just what we've had in the CL for that and I know for a fact Arsenal as a Football Club would be in big big trouble if that was how the last 6 years had played out.

It may be a sad reflection on the standing of our domestic cups but I believe that is the way it is.

not by arsenal supporters , but by our money grabbing board who only care for CL qualification . And I don't think you've addressed Babu's point yet. Theres nothing wrong with having a different opinion but almost anyone can see Wenger has lost the passion for the game.

Do you believe we have made progress since we moved to the Emirates?

Sadly agree with you there 100%.

Not so sure about the FA Cup twice instead of CL qualification bit though, as winning a trophy is also very, very important psychologically, and we are obviously missing that very cliched 'winners mentality'.

Agreed?

Babu.

This is what I'm saying. Wenger is not perfect. I am NOT suggesting he is for one second.

Your point about the 'mental' strength of the side is one of a few he has not addressed very well. I believe he has tried but for whatever reason not one of the players he has put his faith in has stepped up to the plate.

Cesc is on record as bemoaning our lack of mental strength in the Spanish media (where else) recently yet he was the Captain and it was he who many times failed to pick the team up when they needed it. Perhaps Wenger was wrong to make him Captain but who else? RVP? Possibly but out too often. TV ? Same. Who else? Maybe Wenger should of bought a ready made Captain but surely one of the guys should of stepped up or even collectively they should of copped.

Anyway Babu it was, possibly still is going to be, an issue. But with TV and RVP back and the addition of Jack and Aaron, 2 players I see as having a great deal of spirit, playing much bigger roles, perhaps the fortitude required will be there. I hope so anyway.
