Ashley, Samir, Gael & (Cahill & Mata) have the last laugh

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ashley, Samir, Gael & (Cahill & Mata) have the last laugh

Post by A dallying Gus Caesar »

Ashley must be thanking his lucky starts that we shat on him a few years back, because by getting away from us, and joining a team determined to win things, he has now won a PL title, the CL and about 12 FA Cups. Bet he regrets the day he left us...not.

Same thing for Samir & Gael. Yes, they have gone to a club that has bought success but at least they now have a winners medal. Something they would never have seen at The Arse.

As for Cahill and Mata. Who knows how close we came to signing either of them, but boy did they have a lucky escape.

I thought we were competing with Europe's elite since demolishing Highbury? At least thats what I tell myself as goal number thrree rifles past hapless keeper #1/2/3...................

It's OK, no other club has consitently won as many 3rd/4th place trophies. Arsene knows........ where did I leave my medication? :?

Don't think Podolski will wonder what he's let himself in for. His team Cologne got relegated!
Cole will be remembered as a world class player who was a total **** (just like John Terry).
Nasri will be remembered as a good player who was a total **** (the whole French team hated him)
We don't need Mata, we've got too many spineless lightweights like him already in the team (see the penalty miss at the weekend).
I've got time for Clichy cos he's never bad mouthed Arsenal and who can blame him for moving. (It was the right time for both parties and we got a good fee for him).
Only thing I regret in hindsight is missing out on Cahill.

The day that we messed Cole about (a player who came through the ranks, of whom we thought we could takes his loyalty for granted), which then led to him throwing his toys out of the pram, and eventually led to him leaving is one of the saddest days in our recent history.

No wonder we are crap, spineless and without character when you dispense of the services of top, top players and winners such as Cole. Cole is no mug, the only mugs regarding this entire issue were in our boardroom.

I always understood Cole's position, but I can never forgive the way he went about it.

Nasri just fucked us around.

don't get distracted by the fact Ca$hley is brilliant, England's only Worldclass player
he's also the only player (at any club) I can ever remember meeting an opposing teams manager and staff in a public place in the middle of a season
a literally unbelievable level of disrespect
class free scum, simple as

Fair do's in relation to your point about Cole meeting up with Chelsea but Arsenal created this situation, NOT Ashley. Had the club done the right thing by him, in other words treated him the say way as they did others, when it came to transfer negotiations, then none of what took place would have.

WE are the losers out of all this, not Ashley. He is busy counting his medals and good luck to him.
