Those "average" stats (like all stats) are bollocks though. Without doing the math they look like they are averaged from all his "appearances" ie; including subs - even if he went off after 5 minutes injured.

Any time he's had a decent run of games as a striker his goals record has ranged between good-to-outstanding, in an ascending scale. Including goal stats from his first season as a 21-year-old, new-to-the-english-game, wide-man squad-player just seems inane unless it's to purposely distort reality to fit a pre-conceived point of view. He's gone, we'll move on one way or the other but rewriting history to make out he was never really that good just smacks of a scorned woman screaming "yeah well you aint shit anyway, I'm glad you shagged my sister*."

Manc scum are laughing at us and rightly so, they've won. We'd be doing exactly the same in their situation. Going into another season with our best hope being able to scrape into the champions league.
