England v Brazil, Cashley 100 caps

Is Scolari looking at domestic players more than European based?
our national league is piss poor mate. we just don't have any good central striker anywhere, try to think of any in europe.

fred and luis fabiano are not bad players, but none of them would be starters at any of the top clubs in england for example. or spain. or germany.

this is scolari's first game though, i'm sure he'll rotate quite a while before deciding who his squad is.
Do you think he'll give Willian or Rafael Carioca a go, or are neither of these good enough?
haven't watched any of them after they left brazil mate, so really can't say. last time scolari managed brazil he did rotate a lot before deciding on his world cup squad, mind. out of 22 players on his first friendly he only stuck with 9 for the final's squad.

Shows the difference in standards though. Team full of dross with 2 or 3 very talented players mixed in, the meat and drink of English fans/media is to build up teams like that and pretend they're world beaters.

I was scared for Theo and Wilshere, but they did well, England did well. Scolari has much to do!

I'm guessing the brazilian press will give them a pounding.

Good game of football actually, decent watch. Certainly a lot better than catching 10 mins of Ghana v Burkina Faso or even worse the last 10 of Wales v Austria.

brazilianGOONER wrote:and a comment on brazil's side: it's really sad to see the Seleção playing luis fabiano and fred up front. players who on their peaks (a couple of years ago) were never good enough for the bench. a sad generation of brazilian footballers, lots of weight on neymar and oscar's shoulders.
And around Andre Santos's belly!
