England v Brazil, Cashley 100 caps

Post by Top Londoner »

Peter Shilton
David Beckham
Bobby Moore
Bobby Charlton
Billy Wright
Steven Gerrard

Ashley Cole

It should be a cause for celebration, but it won't be.
I can think of plenty of other players that I would be cheering onto the pitch for their 100th cap, but not this bloke.
Kenny Sansom for one.

Seemed to love Arsenal and hate sp*rs and united when he played for us but then shat on us all. Up there with the best left backs ever to play for Arsenal but a *word censored* of a man and with his private life too sums up everything with modern day footballers :x

Imagine how many more games we might have won with him still in our defence.
Great, consistent player but Ashley you know what you are..

One of the best, and most consistent, players of his generation. Shame he saw pound signs and cunted us all off and not surprising we've won bollocks snce the turncoat twat moved on.

"I nearly swerved off the road" indeed.

To what extent do these players really deserve to be known as "England legends"? Yes, many have picked up a fantastic number of caps but bearing in mind how many cack sides there are even at international tournaments not reaching a semi-final in any of their international careers is piss-poor.

Look at the collective achievements of Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard and Cole at club level - a couple of CL titles, plenty of domestic titles and more domestic cups than you can shake a stick at. At international level they've not got near doing anything.

If your legacy is a free-kick in the qualifiers against a dross Greek side then that says it all. These players have been part of the biggest group of bottlers in international football over the last decade and a half.

Sullies the picture of the invincibles that proudly hangs at home. The boy had it all, played for The Arsenal, had Cheryl's clunge on tap and he pissed it all away. Great player but a cretin of a human being,

If you had to choose one, would you have Cheryl's clunge on tap or Natalie's? Actually maybe this choice need to have a thread all of its own :barscarf:

You'd think an accent shouldn't be that much of an issue but she'd wear ya down eventually for sure. Still worth it mind. Same with that Georgie Thompson, stunning woman but sounds like a darts announcer with a 60 a day Woodbine habit.

As already stated "great player" "absolute c**t"
Should though, also be noted that his sale was the first sign under Wenger that we were willing to sell our best players to our rivals,, then try to plug the gap with inferior quality, this went unnoticed because of Cole's secret meeting(s) with the chavs.
I still think he would have preferred to stay and would never have met with them had he been reassured he would be paid what he was worth, and that in the footballing world was a lot more then 40k. Should also not be under estimated how much that little geordie slag was probably stirring the shit behind the scenes.

Agree Sid it's a pity it came to that and you can say it was the principle of Arsenal penny-pinching but was it not £55k not £40k, and also when he was then belatedly given the bumper deal he could hardly justifiably point to Arsenal 'screwing him' given his conduct.

I thought the first offer was 40k, I could be wrong, either way we should have been sitting him down from day one and recognising him as the best left back in Europe and securing him on a lengthy contract, not playing "brinkmanship" over money.
His behaviour in the whole thing was disgusting, but it was triggered by Arsenal's fucking about, no doubtedly on Wenger's assurance that Clichy would be able to fill the void.
Cole behaved like a *word censored* and Arsenal and Wenger like the penny pinching contract delaying wankers that we now know only too well.
