If Sp*rs keep Bale, sign Willian (he's been brilliant for Anzhi) and we don't really strengthen, we can wave goodbye to top four. Thankfully I can't see this scenario happening.topgoon wrote:Yes but he needs ammo and just don't see the ammunition from their attacking players. Oddly enough, I believe we can challenge for the title if we get in a world-class striker and a solid DM. Sp*rs have arguably done both... Perhaps it's my bias![]()
Also it's interesting to see AVB doing well at Sp*rs. People always ask "if Wenger leaves, who can replace him?" Well, AVB could have been the man. If Sp*rs can get a good manager like him, why can't we?
Still think they're going to buy a creative midfielder whether chimp boy stays or goes....Will I am is up for sale again now that the Voice is off air and Anzhi have gone t*ts up.

Re:
It's pretty impressive but last year was, at 28, the first time he's registered 20 league goals (playing in a two-team league). Whether there are many better strikers around depend on what you mean by "available" - but in a list of Europe's best strikers I don't think Soldado would feature near the top of anybody's list. He's a good player and as I said better than what we have but he's not going to set the league on fire by any means, certainly not in the top bracket.Red Gunner wrote:That's why I said "arguably." Daily Mail losing the plot:
No thanks: Real block Tottenham's bid to offload misfiring Adebayor as part of world-record move for Bale
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has failed in an attempt to offload Emmanuel Adebayor as part of the negotiations with Real Madrid for the sale of Gareth Bale.
Adebayor was offered during the complicated negotiations between Levy and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Spurs want Adebayor out of the club and he was thrown into a deal that will eventually set a world record fee for Bale.

Re: Chimp Watch - What if Spurs keep the Chimp?
The whole Chimp to Madrid saga has seemed very strange to me.
Well before the transfer window opened, Zidane (a Madrid employee) stated that he thought Chimp was worth 85 million. At the time I wondered why you would talk up the value of somebody you wanted to buy to such a ridiculous extent.(30 million more than Cavani's release clause!).
I wondered at the time if it was to inflate his worth in Levy's eyes so that nobody else could afford him. Madrid have already spent a lot of money (net) and while they do spend ridiculous sums, 85 million will be a stretch even for them. I hope it happens because the Scum will be weaker (but richer), but the situation does seem a little odd.

Bit odd the way it's all gone quiet about the chimp's transfer.
I suspect monkey boy has been sold already but Perez has agreed to keep it schtum so tight-fist Levy doesn't get the same treatment he gives when he tries to buy replacements. Marca who are virtually Real's mouth piece are assuning it's just an unveiling left. hence why he's not being risked by the scum and Wales. Notice how his billboard on time square disappeared last week not long after the first meeting between Perez and Levy.
I expect them to give it a real go this year but to keep them in their place, this Gustavo deal if it's not our usual BS, coupled with Williams, Cesar and Michu (because he's all that's left that can score in the league) will go a long way.

Yeah it's all gone very quiet. Madrid generally don't give a shit how many times they're told a player isn't for sale, they'll keep plugging away until he's theirs so their silence seems pretty ominous.

Christian Eriksen says he is interested in moving to Sp*rs:topgoon wrote:As things stand with squads, it'll be 2 way fight for 4th again. Scousers can forget it, if the scum keep, buck tooth cannibal is gone to Real.
The scum still lack a playmaker, a creator, someone who can see a pass, like Jack ,Artets, Santi and even Rosicky and Rambo sometimes.
It's why we get away with having no World class finisher, one of our midfielder's always comes up with a killer pass. They just don't have that and it mazes me they haven't addressed that. If they are going to rely on having good wing play, a decent organised defence can nullify that. There is only so much running all over the pitch the chimp can get away with.
It's what Manure lack and amazingly Shitty. That is why Manure wanted Cesc so badly. They should let Granny shagger go to chavs only if they are allowed Mata in exchange.

Madrid have finally got their hands on him.

Transfer confirmed at £86M, World Record Fee.
Spurs Forums will be boasting about the fee today as some sort of "superiority" over us, whilst we calmly bask in the warm glow of another North London Derby victory:
