Hey everyone, I'm really excited to join the forum and it is quite entertaining hearing the old lads talk about 1970's and stuff. I was not around those times not even close. I am a big gunner supporter and get a lot of flack from friends who are Chelsea and Man U supporters. I decided to join the forum hoping for some good topic and like minded people who all are arsenal fans. I am a little disappointed to say the least!! Some of the people here seem so negative and against arsenal its quite sad. Yeah we are doing bad but to hope that your own team will lose 10 - 0 is just outrageous. A lot of what is posted on here is just people venting their frustrations, mate. Some do wish we lose because they are either genuinely THAT angry at the club or (in a couple of cases) they are idiots. But most on here are long term Gooners, many of us since the 70's, a few old boys from the 60's and even the 50's (and then there's olgit, who helped found the club in 1886 at the young age of 32! ).

Most of us still want to win no matter what. But the negativity can't really surprise you, can it? With what has transpired over the last 8 or so years? There are a lot of angry Gooners out there and where we used to be the minority those numbers are growing day by day.

Also, don't confuse negativity with lack of support. You can support the team on the pitch and still express your anger at how that team is managed.

I am also new on here, and am one of the oldies that you mention

I admire the optimism and the "Rally Call", but Wenger and the Board have messed up for so many years now, the supporters have had enough. We have had a large "War Chest" for a couple of years now and we have done awful in the transfer windows. And believe me, now that Sp*rs are on the up, the criticism for Wenger and the board will only get worse unless we improve.

You could always start up a forum with HighburyJD and Steve i and every thread can be rosie where Arsenal are really competing to win trophies, where we really are signing SUPER Quality players, where we still haven't got players like Bendtner on our books taking £50k + per week out of the club, where Wenger, being one of the TOP 5 paid managers in World Football has the ability identifying the necessary players to take us to the next level.....

I get what you are saying I really do, its just a sad situation, to be honest I am also frustrated and angry and I really feel Wenger is living in his own little fantasy world. But consider this, the best minds often come across as crazy but I am not so sure in this case. With the game of football having evolved so rapidly we need a change of manager so we can compete with other clubs or a alex furgeson lol
