Just wanted to introduce myself as I have just joined your excellent Forum.

I have been reading posts on here for a few months but never took the time to join and share points of views and Arsenal stories.

Been an Arsenal fan since 1974 (Yep, I m quite old!) and enjoyed some really good times, and also some bad times.

For the younger members, my login name "Young Willy" is a reversal of the cult hero of the 70's and early 80's Willy Young! (Legend Centre Back!).

I might fit in well on here then because I have very little sympathy for Mr Wenger. He has been given lots of chances to put things right over the past couple of years but has failed to do so.

My favourite Willy Young memory is his beautiful tackle/assault on Paul Allen and the media outrage that ensued because this Arsenal lout had creased the (then) youngest ever player to play in an FA cup final – I think Allen was 12 or something . For years afterwards we called that slicer from behind (steady, Jayson... steady...) “The Willy Young Scissors”. Classic.

I remember that incident very well. Allen was completely clear on goal when Young had no choice but to bring him down (Possibly a striaght red these days! )

What a terrible Final that was! I was living in Romford at the time and was surrounded by West Ham fans!

I was living in Romford too, I was 14, and I went to the game with my Father, I was at Chase cross school, 1500 kids (5 years, 9 forms per year, 30 kids per class) about 3 of those were gooners (me , my brother and my cousin) I still hate WHU far more than the scum

I have also performed that willy young tackle on my brother rather more times than would be polite

Yep, I’d say the Murdering IRA Bastard element of our race would fairly shit when faced with air rifles alright. Who needs Semtex and assault rifles!

Dont actually remember that one. But now that you mention Stapleton, I was at the match v Man Utd when he played his first game against us! He got so much abuse for the whole game! "Your just a greedy ****, Stapleton!" Mind you, I remember it was 0-0 final score, but Statpleton was clean through in the last couple of minutes but his shot hit the post! Phew!

Dont actually remember that one. But now that you mention Stapleton, I was at the match v Man Utd when he played his first game against us! He got so much abuse for the whole game! I think the game was 2-2.... yes, I remember that game well, it's loudest and most intimidating atmosphere I've ever witnessed at an Arsenal game... I was proud of the crowd that day!!!
