Arsene would be a great replacement, good with numbers, and would have internal solutions to any problem :barscarf:

I wonder if Platini will now throw his hat into the ring? Surely he would fancy the top job. He would be better then Blatter but he still has very little love for English football.

There has never been a better time to call a halt to the Qatar World Cup Finals.

Apart from the whole thing being as bent as a paper clip, there is the plight of all the foreign workers in Qatar who are virtual slaves and are treated as worthless. By the time the gleaming new stadiums are built there will have been about FOUR THOUSAND deaths of construction workers.

Congratulations Blatter. It's a wonderful legacy to leave behind you.

Oh, and the Qataris promised to clean up their health, safety and welfare for these people over a year ago. People are still dying building the stadiums. And people are still prevented from leaving the country. They are treated as sub human slaves. It's fucking disgusting. Qatar should lose the World Cup purely based on this.

Told you! (in the other thread  ) The second I saw the US Attorney General with the head of the FBI giving a press conference I knew he was toast. Hopefully this leads to a re-vote on BOTH the Russian and the Qatar World Cups.

England 2018, USA 2022, MAKE IT HAPPEN! :barscarf: :barscarf:

Looks like the FBI might have something on him.

Good luck finding him though. Last seen at Zurich International boarding a Learjet.

Have to say "Hats Off" to America / FBI / Justice Dept for taking action - All the European Justice systems have stood by for years doing sweet fuck all....

Also I can only imagine that other corrupt, gutless *word censored* Platini - who has been a hand puppet for Blatter sucking his cock at every opportunity to try and move up the ladder will now do all he can to try and gain the presidency of Fifa, but the last thing we need is for another Corrupt Despot to be in charge...we need new blood - someone who is Honest and who would not and could not be bought or persuaded to turn a blind eye to all the brown envelopes and secret swiss bank accounts...a total clean sweep is what is required...o fuck off Blatter and take your rent boy Platini with you.

I think Rednose would be a good option - but whether he would want the job - too old? - is another question.

No. Simply no.

Moving the World Cup too the USA in 2022 would tarnish our name in world football for a long time (even the biggest anti-Americans must admit we are improving) and draw into question our motives.

I expect bids from the following countries if a revote is held:

USA
Australia
Mexico

If European nations are given a special exception to the rule about no consecutive world cups in the same confederation, also expect to see:

England
Italy
Spain
Netherlands/Belgium (joint bid, no pun intended)

In my opinion, Australia would win a final round vote over Mexico. Cannot go to Europe twice in a row (interesting to see if this rule is waived), won't be given to US for reasons listed above, and Australia has better infrastructure. I do not see the Asian football confederation putting forth a suitable replacement unless Japan or South Korea go it alone.

I think that England's motives will also be publicly questioned if they push hard to get either of the 2018 and 2022 world cups awarded to them, plus if they also try to push one of their delegates into one of the main positions inside fifa, blatter and his crooked cronies will state publicly that they wanted rid of him cos they wanted the power themselves  For the good of the game the 2018 world cup should still be held in Russia - yes they may have been awarded the world cup on the basis of brown envelopes, but holding it there in the summer of 2018 causes little or no upheaval to European domestic leagues, plus it also might pacify the Russians who are claiming an agenda against them

I think uefa should meet with the other federations and be prepared to support a non European candidate for the job - perception is everything nowadays, and too many football fans in the world claim that Europe has too much power and wealth in the game so it might be prudent to stand back and say that uefa only want to see the right person for the job regardless of nationality

Agreed. Also, considering that England came 4th out of 4, they are my no means a shoe-in if the 2018 revote was to be held. In fact, I'd suggest they'd be less likely to triumph than in 2010. They could easily receive no votes aside from their own.
