What about the two clowns who threw their shirt into the crowd at Reading thinking there was a reply!!!
To be fair to Giroud, he stands out for me as a player who is busting a gut on the pitch to make up for what he lacks in ability. You cant fault the lad for that. A modern day handsome Ray Parlour if you will. :D

I just yearn for the days of Paddy, Lauren and Keown actuallly eyeball fucking Keane, the Neviller & Scholes with their death gazes before a match. Thats how you psych up for a game at OT. Not fucking about with all the air kisses and hugs the Fooking set of pouf's (the french ladies hairstyle type of pouf as so not to be contriversial :) ) the lot of em. Not a competitive bone in their entire body between them.

I think the game on Saturday may have been a a defining moment, Wenger didn't have the injuries to excuse this performance, like he had last season.
We were shown to be lame, heartless and simply inferior and I think a lot of people both Arsenal fans and "neutrals" now finally realise that.
Saturdays result and more so the performance may prove more damaging to Wenger than last season's humiliation. THe next 4 or 5 games both domestically and in Europe could be decisive. And if they do go against Wenger then it is down to the fans to act.

We've been here before.

We've got Fulham (h), Sp*rs (h) and Villa (a) coming up in the league and a rather kind fixture list up until Christmas, so I can see our results improving.

If there's something we do well it's get just enough points and wins to keep the hostility manageable.

In any case, last season proved that our fan base aren't capable of revolting en masse. We were on a shocking run of form (worst in 17 years?), had lost at United 8-2, and were still reeling from selling Cesc and Nasri, and still the fans couldn't put together the numbers necessary to make a meaningful stand against the club. This season won't either, so I'm not convinced it's as "decisive" as you're making out, Sid. Sorry. :(

You mean like Norwich and QPR, I think we will struggle every game, we seem to be getting worse by the week, I can see us in total disarray by January.

Spot on g88ner. We will do just enough (as we do each year) to keep the majority of AKB sheep at bay

Well we are in disarray, and have been for some time. But I still think we'll pick up enough points to fight for 4th. Whether we finish above Sp*rs is up for debate, but last season some people were predicting a mid-table finish or worse, and that's just never going to happen. There's plenty of worse teams in the league than Arsenal.

Makes me laugh when I see people predict us to finish mid-table. As frustrating as we are we're still better than Swansea, Sunderland and co.

This is a discussion I had with Yankee this time last season...

Mate, we have no chance of being relegated, I assure you.

We're not great, but seriously we're not half as bad as people are making out. We'll win games and throw many away, but that's more than enough to stay WELL AWAY from relegation.

I still think top 6... but hey, I guess I'm blinded by "The Arsenal brand" :?
Still think top 6? Definitely blinded.
I particularly liked when he bumped the thread with "still think top 6? defintely blinded" after we lost again...

I’m just glad you took the moral high ground and didn’t say I told you so and rub it in his face and... oh, right. :-P

I'd normally agree, but I always thought him bumping the thread after we lost (again) with his "definitely blinded" comment was unnecessary... especially as I was only saying top 6   - it's not as if I was saying we'd be champions!

Anyway, it niggled me a little, I must admit.

So to cut the long story short... he started it

At least after the humiliation we suffered at OT last season we could still rejoice in the fact that we'd won the more important game of that week away at Udinese. This year no such comfort

You say that, but I was talking to a United fan at work, and he reckons we DID win the important game of the week... 7-5 vs. Reading.

As he rightly pointed out, after 7 years of winning nothing, it's absolutely essential we win a trophy this season, so beating Reading keeps that hope alive, whereas we've got no chance in the world of winning the league regardless of whether we won or lost against United.

Sadly, I agree with him :( - Reading in the mickey mouse cup WAS our big game
