What would appease you for letting Cesc leave the club?

Why doesn't Cesc come out and say that it's all rubbish if that's what it is?

Yep, hate to say it, but his treatment of Fabregas has been like putting a Ferarri in your garage, scraping the doors as you squeeze it in between your Nissan Micra and Rover 214.

Why should Fabregas stay any longer and prop up a team, the backbone of which is fucking awful. Diaby wouldn't get into Man Utd's squad. He wouldn't get into Chelsea's. I doubt he'd get into Man City's, Liverpool's or Spurs'.

Almunia is, bar none, the worst #1 in the league. Fabianski is even worse than him. With van Persie out, we had no cover. Cesc himself filled in as an attacker more than anyone else. Bendtner did ok, but is never a 20+ goals a season man.

Normally he does when shit like this comes out. It's only news today so give him time

but.....if true there will be a 'no comment' statement.
What? Arsenal have issued a statement of "no comment"

I try to be positive and got really wound up by all the posters on here who were windging about finishing third - not that I wouldn't have loved to finish higher.

Can we be up there without Cesc, I really don't know and worry that we won't.

Alot of historical posts on this thread.

If Fabregas, wants to go, then let him go, simple as that.

Our season as been over before it's started for the last 2/3 seasons.

The time to judge will be when the team takes the field on the opening day.

If it turns out that Cesc wants out I'll be gutted.

However I don't think he'd be ahead of Xavi or Iniesta, so I think he'll be around for a couple of seasons yet.

At the moment it's Balague writing in AS - I think it was Boomer who pointed out that neither were particularly credible sources.

Until I see a shot of Cesc holding a Barcelona shirt I think it's best to ignore the speculation.

He will start games for them without a doubt.
Barca fans are already dreaming of a team that looks like this

Valdes
Alves - Pique - Puyol - Abidal
Busi - Xavi
Messi - Cesc - Iniesta
Villa

So dont kid yourself.

Funny thing is that some fans last summer were telling us all to relax that cesc would give us another season and some of them are saying the same thing now  How many years do you think cesc is going to wait for project wenger/fizsman to come to fruition ? :banghead:

Have to say that, even though I have predicted all season long that he would leave this summer, I am really disappointed/gutted/depressed now that it looks a very real possibility  All we can do right now is hope and pray that he decides to stay but at this stage the odds dont look good :(
I have said it already but wenger cannot be allowed to stay if cesc goes and there is no way we should accept anything less than 40m and even at that he is cheap

Talkshite just had their spanish guru on who said Cesc flew into London today to tell AW face to face that he wants to go. That is the first step.

Barca are not prepared to pay more than 30 million as he was a product of their youth system. A gooner fan called in and hit the nail on the head. We are bullied off the pitch just as we are bullied on the pitch.

Can somebody at Arsenal please step up and earn your wage.

Well then someone at Arsenal needs to say 'sorry Cesc you're worth far more than that, we're not gonna be made mugs of'.

I can't see it happening though.

Gunnerdude,

That completely changes Barcelona's formation and breaks up the Xavi/Iniesta axis

There is no holding midfielder in there either.

However I accept that playing him as a 10 was not an option I considered.

Nevertheless X/I/Cesc I can't see how they'd all fit in. Very similar players - would all want to play in the same spaces.

Fuck it I'm on one now.
We shouldn't be held to ransom by them or Cesc if true.

I'm not knocking Cesc but he has 4 year contact.
So if the rumours are true then he should be let go.....at the right price.
If notthen we're not interest and despite being unhappy we keep Cesc.

Again if true we should play dirty and get Citeh and the Chavs envolve to hike the price.

God this is tedious...people are getting wound up by speculation, papers and Talksport!!!

Don't believe everything you read! We go through this every summer with one player or another, surely you must realise that 90% of the time its utter bollocks?

If he goes, he goes - personally I dont think he will - yet.

Iniesta has played as LW many times.
Xavi used to be a DM and always comes deep for the ball.
Busquets is a DM, Keita is a DM.
So yes the it is workable and he will start without a doubt.

I still think there's a case to be made for too many cooks.

Iniesta wide would also take out a lot of width (and play him in a position he is not quite as devestating (alothough still bloody good).

Busquets I'd have said was a more of a foil for Xavi. Keita/Toure would be the holders.

HOWEVER having seen Mr.W's editorial I'm feeling a little concerned...
