Sad news re Charlie! Charlie!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RIP

So sad and sudden. My heart goes out to his family and friends at this time. Seems from reading he was a genuine top bloke and gooner.

Gives some perspective as others have said to little things in life that seem important but really are nothing compared to this.

This is so, so sad.

I never met Steve. I've just seen his face on this thread. Apart from his Charlie Charlie posts, he is a stranger to me. But I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes.

My sincere sympathy and best wishes to all those who were privileged to have known the man. Be strong. And celebrate the happy memories he has given to you.

Kev.

I'm truly heartbroken, even though I didn't personally know the man.

I just looked at his profile and felt like crying. :(

RIP Steve, you won't be forgotten mate.

My heart goes out to your family, friends, and all who loved you.

Have just seen the picture of Steve - didn't know him but have seen him at matches quite a few times.

I just don't know what to say, seeing a man of just 41 taken like this.

God bless you mate

Really terrible news, absolutely no age at all. :(

My thoughts go out to all of those affected; Steve's family & friends, Percy, onemoreminute & all who knew him. Hopefully you can take a little peace from the fact that he's no longer in pain & has joined any of his family & friends who may have sadly passed on. I'm also certain that all the other Gooners who have tragically left us will be taking care of him in the great Clock End in the sky, none more so than our friend Rocky.

RIP

Deepest sympathies to Steve's family and friends from all at The Gooner. Heart wrenching stuff to read this. I am sure one of you guys on the forum that is close will arrange for something by way of a gesture from all on the forum, so please let us know what we can do and we will help out.

Black, black day that makes you realise how trivial the football team's results are, and yet, the club is what brought Steve into the lives of those here who knew him well. A sad loss who will be missed by those who were lucky enough to meet him, and the many who were not fortunate enough to do so.

More than happy to contribute to something in the way of flowers or whatever Steve's good friends would feel is appropriate.

I can easily make a bank to bank transfer. If its safer to arrange by PM please drop me a line.

Terrible news and so young.
As others have already said, it puts everything else into perspective. Let's hope he's watching from the great Highbury in the sky. RIP Steve.
