As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Who else would have him at Arsenal? (Please leave rivalries aside.)

Not wanting Twitchy as manager doesn't mean someone is happy Wenger is still our manager. The two are not mutually exclusive. I want Wenger gone but I do not want him replaced by a crooked crunt that has had one or two actual top seasons as a manager in a career spanning 30 years...
I don't believe he has what it takes to manage a truly big club like us. He reminds me of the Fat Sams and the Martin O'Neills of this world - able to get alot out of average players at smaller clubs where expectations are lower, and continually punch above their weight knowing that their board and fans will support them if they can just avoid relegation or go on a bit of a cup run. Not knocking that type of manager - they do a tough job and some do it very well.
But you put that type of manager at a truly big club with the media hype and elevated level of expectation and supporter demands and 9 times out of 10 they fail.
funny how you had to explain this.
some people are just dumb as fuck
Agree with everything said above without the dumb as fuck line BG we don't want to sink to you know who's level of how to win(lose) an arguement

What utter attention seeking nonsense.
It got your attention then.
It did indeed. As did your comparisons of our club to "Moneyball", also nonsense.
who have Spurs actually beaten this season?
ok they have beaten 2 teams in the top 8 at home this season - us and Liverpool. Thing is though Liverpool were reduced to 9 men in that match.
they have not beaten any of the top 8 away from home and in fact only one currently in the top 13 - Norwich City
so is the Spurs title challenge based on their fluked win over us at the beginning of October when we were still shit?

Don't get excited yet Red. Its a little bit hard for them to beat Arsenal, Liverpool and City away from home before they've played them away from home wouldn't you say?
And how have we done against the other top teams. Beat Chelsea when your "arrogant moron" friend could have been sent off and cost us the game and lost to all of Man U, City, Liverpool and Spurs. Hardly much to crow about eh ?
Gunnersaurus wrote:Them drawing today was a big bonus, we can't mess this up tomorrow, let's hope the winning mentality of Henry rubs off on them.
Absolutely. TBH listening to Henry is refreshing. I think he gets as much pleasure (well almost) just being around the club as he does playing. Count how many times he uses the word 'help' when he talks about his role. Even he ends up being using in a bits and pieces role I just hope he gets through to them in terms of games like tomorrow.......he's a smart enough guy to make a great coach if he ever wants to, so could be a stepping stone
He will hate that they are way ahead of us, hate it, those players will know what they got to do, he will be doing what our soft manager can't do, put some fire in their belly.
I'm expecting to see a performance tomorrow, it ain't an easy place to go but I just think he will serve more use in the dressing room then on the pitch, we will see tomorrow night.
Our players don't care about the rivalry, perhaps Wilshere, van Persie and Scezceny do, he will make sure the rest start caring, I'm sure of it.

If he does all that then Wenger's role becomes redundant. We should just make Henry player-manager I reckon. He would do a better job than Wenger. Then we can move the GIC to his rightful position as Financial Management Director.

Or it will call into question what Rice does?
TH14 has a lot of respect for the Self Harmer but I get the impression that as a player coach first of all, he would learn all his good points but also be strong enough to be his own man and develop his own good points. He is a strong character
He's a twitchy, tax-dodging fuck but he is bloody shrewd too. This is a great play. He's basically giving Ade an ultimatum, but he's doing it while things are all rosy in the Sp*rs garden. He also knows few other teams are going to take a chance on Ade and he's giving him a chance to stay - albeit at a reduced price.
He knows Sp*rs could cough up bigger bucks if he had to, but he's basically playing Ade to get a top player at a cut price. Very clever, twitchy. Very clever.
