Schalke Away match thread
Re: Schalke Away match thread
I wonder where the Europa League comes in our glorious manager's list of priorities, cos I reckon we will fuck up qualification from this group. Not that I care, we won't win it so the humiliation of the europa followed by the humiliation of an early exit from that too can only further undermine the old fool's position.

Steve ,but then the world changed and the rich men came in. we have one and he has nearly 30% of the shares but no say !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like Pamela Anderson laying there starkers but all you can muster is a lazy lob !SteveO 35 wrote:"We are moving to a new ground in order to compete with Europe's elite" - does that little gem sum it up for you.MK Gould wrote:That's the bit I don't understand though i.e. why peoples expectations would be so high.... Im suprised you'd say that..... As i said earlier its all about levels of expectation Huddersfield Arsenal different levels completely mate
And in the Champions League we have got to the final once, the semi final once.... That hardly makes us a Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan or Man Utd..... Talk about up ourselves!
I don't remember any of our former Chairmen or CEO's making false claims and raising expectations when we were back at THOF (despite the fact we somehow managed to have our best ever run in the competition whilst playing there)

Sid we will qualify cos as is always the case we got a piss poor group

Re: Schalke Away match thread
The last remaining flicker of interest I had this has evaporated since I read that Gibbs is out and Wenger has now come out with a defence of Andre Santos based on 'cultural differences' - as predictable as Chelsea defending John Terry. So the complete areshole that disrespected the shirt disgracefully on Saturday will be in the starting line up whilst hundreds of those he showed contempt for at the weekend will again be giving up hundreds of pounds travelling to watch him play.

Gibbs out? Utterly predictable.
Diaby still out since taking a shot against the Chavs
So-Shit-Ski out since he penned a bumper new contract.
Scez still out with an ankle injury that was meant to keep him out for 2 weeks......7 weeks ago.
That multi milllion pound medical center we recently got is working a treat ain't it??

Got to say i don't fancy Arsenal one bit tonight.
Schalke showed what they can do in London and I just can't see where Arsenal i going to up the tempo and dig in.
You can argue 2/3 players may have the neccessary qualities required to put a performance in, but at this level you need far more.
Any way you will know how we are going to perform 15/20 minutes into the game, if it's square, square, slow, slow then it's going to be a long long night.
Actually i'm not fussed any way, Europa league will do me just fine plus a defeat tonight, draw Saturday then it just brings more pressure on change, this can't go on for ever, there has to be a tipping point.

Re: Schalke Away match thread
The tipping point will come when the away support finally gets fed up and starts calling for his head , I think like last season he is only one or two defeats away , after the Fulham game not long until the spuds.
No other manager would put up with selling his best players every season , maybe he is on a % like someone said GG was !
Wenger out

I'd go gay for 7 million quid a year.

Re: Schalke Away match thread
I reckon that Wenger is really on £9 million a year and diverts funds to the sycophantic-spin master-operating loss bonus-man, Mr Gazidis.
Re: Schalke Away match thread
3-0 or 4-1 Schalke.
We have absolutely no chance with this one.
The greeks will win too and qualify with Schalke.
Our last 4 performances have been unacceptable and Vermaelen has totally lost it since he became Skipper.
Would hope that Vermaelen plays instead of Santos tho tonite and that Kos joins the big German in central defence. Thats the only hope.
Theo to start up front alongside Geroud. No I thought not.
We are at the lowest ebb.

Re: Schalke Away match thread
Hadnt really given a shit all day about this but the nearer to kick off the more up for it i am....will i ever fucking learn
As for the game, I'm hoping they cant possibly keep being this shit without something giving...surely even wenger wont put up with it for much longer
My heart saying an old fashioned battling 1-0 to the Arsenal....then having to listen to wenger banging on about our tremendous spirit afterwards
My head says the same gutless fucks we've seen roll over against mancs, narwich and the krauts will turn up and we will get beaten 2 or 3 nil.....then having to listen to wenger blame the pitch or ref or anyone and everything except himself.
Fuck it I'm going to start drinking now.

2-0 to the Germans.
Used to howl and scream when we fucked up in the past, now it's as regular as sunrise after nighttime. Sick to death of all the Wenger sympathisers, it's never his fault blah fucking blah.
If we want to be seen as a European elite, maybe our fans should act more European-hounding them at the training ground, white hankercheifs and whistles, they should be cowering from us.
It makes me fucking sick seeing them just plod along picking up their pay packets , while the common fan scrapes what they can in this current climate to see them fanny about with the ball for 89 mins and get their one and only shot at goal in injury time.
Id love to get them all in the dressing room, send in GG, TA, Wrighty, Keown, and Limpar and a video of the Manu brawl from 91, lock the door and let them fucking know what it means to play for Arsenal.
