Also can't believe ITV were actually surprised it wasn't an enthralling game. A team with no chance of qualifying with 4 defeats from 4 games turn up with their best players on the bench, what did they expect? We never got out of second gear but coasted to a victory with a clean sheet and no apparent damage on the injury or fatigue front, job done.

ouch. that was a stinger.

:barscarf:

i guess the miserable old gits among us can be happy with another clean sheet though.

1 goal in our last six in all competitions.

a clean sheet on Saturday would be a result.

Bored so I sent this in on itv programme feedback.

Liverpool/Dortmund were the last impressive performances we put together. They feel a while ago!

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Could you please register my complaint regarding your coverage of Arsenal vs Marseille in the Champions League at the Emirates tonight.

There is typically an acceptable level of bias for the British teams in your coverage except when your match commentators encounter Arsenal. The bias is then usually non-existent which, although unfair compared to the positive comments other British teams enjoy, is fine and accustomed to.

It is a bit of a joke, however, for Andy Townsend to excitedly shout "get in!" when Marseille took a shot in the 75th minute. While we no longer expect the same amount of positive comments enjoyed by other British teams, perhaps your commentators actually cheering on the French opposition may be interpreted as you taking the piss.

Excuse my French.

Kind regards"

Good on you mate - he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, at the very worst he should be neutral, and want the English / British clubs to proceed in the competition. Don't know if he is on twitter (I don't myself ) but if he is I hope he gets shitload of grief for his bias.

Just watched the highlights and just heard him say it....wtf what a pr*ck.

Are UEFA still deciding whether Napoli play behind closed doors for their final game after all the trouble they caused here and in Marseille, would be ace if our fans are allowed in and theirs not, still wouldn't want to go anywhere near Naples for the game without the club official escort.

am i the only one that see's the keeper a yard off the line when ozil hits the ball???! i dont disagree, he hit the ball very casually, no arguments here. He should have burried it. But the F-WORD ref is standing on the line! how is this allowed??

"
Law 14 The Penalty Kick

...

The defending goalkeeper:
• must remain on his goal line, facing the kicker, between the goalposts until
the ball has been kicked
"
....

couldnt be clearer!

Yeah he was a bit off his line but not like 5 or 10 years ago when keepers were 3 yards off their line for every pen. The first step just before the player strikes it to allow the keeper to push off is always going to be sideways and if Ozil takes the piss with his run-up like yesterday I don't have a problem with keeper doing what Mandanda did yesterday.

He was well off his line!

What really annoyed me was that the assistant behind the goal was looking down the line but couldn't give a toss, but when Marseille nearly scored he was practically in the goal checking to see if it had gone in!

Well, it was a shittish game against a very shit side. Job done. No injuries (yet) and two nice goals. Ozil is still off form but there were flashes of his quality last night with some of his passes. The penno wasn't a penno and it was a shit penno too.
