That's why I suggested the Overground from Clapham. Bournemouth, much as I detest SW trains and their odious owner, I reckon they will allow you to change the ticket in these circumstances.QuartzGooner wrote:Better than the Bakerloo, a nasty sweaty stunted stub of a line with a permanently intermittent service North of Queens Park!Chippy wrote:
Seriously Quartz the Northern line is the pits when running a full service, the only way he'll do that is with an AK47.
There is no easy way from Waterloo during a strike or at rush hour, simple as that.
Manure game tube strike.

Well it was absolute chaos getting to work for everyone. Going to be the same tonight. Next week is going to be a barrel of laughs.
Only hope is they call next weeks off. Not sure how likely that will be.
I'm considering taking half day Wednesday

I don't dispute SW trains employees work hard in what have been shit conditions for months, but the senior management of the organisation leave a lot to be desired.Eboue-Why? wrote:Oi, leave SWT alone. and a SW trains guard on twitter has said that the q to get on the Overground platforms at Clapham Jct this morning was over 30 mins.

They have to call it off (the game I mean). Sorry to anyone who's booked transport and hotels but if this morning is anything to go by the ground will be a quarter full.
As I delight in saying I don't do Cat As but rush hour will be bad enough without 60,000 of you lot complicating matters further

Re: Manure game tube strike.
When would they reschedule it to?
I think it would be better to play this game sooner than later, perhaps 4 March while I'm in London

There are international friendlies on March 4/5; not too many free dates while we're still in FA Cup and CL and Mancs are in CL.gp543 wrote:When would they reschedule it to?

Re: Manure game tube strike.
@Peeman
From Paddington you would have to get Hammersmith & City to King's Cross, as the Circle Line is not running during this strike.
@BournemouthRed
My backup plan of getting the Jubilee Line from Waterloo to Green Park is out, as the Jubilee Line is not running that section of the track during the strike.
The Northern Line is running though.
My tuppence: If the strike goes ahead next week, there is no way they can guarantee people can safely get to and from the game, a public event of 60,000 concentrated in a locality risks a crush in a surrounding station.
Might not happen, but I would not want to be responsible for taking that risk.
It is also an insult to fans who work.
The club say people should make plans to leave early?
What if you have a job and cannot leave your office until 6 or 6.30pm?
It has to be moved.

Re: Manure game tube strike.
If the club are insistent on the game definitely going ahead (for reasons I'm not quite sure of; likely financial), then the least they can do is whack on a shitload of coaches across London to get people there and back. It's all very well saying they hope alternative transport methods should be okay, but why don't they proactively try and help, instead of just shrugging their shoulders and hoping for the best?
