As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Also I can only imagine that other corrupt, gutless *word censored* Platini - who has been a hand puppet for Blatter sucking his cock at every opportunity to try and move up the ladder will now do all he can to try and gain the presidency of Fifa, but the last thing we need is for another Corrupt Despot to be in charge...we need new blood - someone who is Honest and who would not and could not be bought or persuaded to turn a blind eye to all the brown envelopes and secret swiss bank accounts...a total clean sweep is what is required...o fuck off Blatter and take your rent boy Platini with you.
I think Redknapp would be a good option - but whether he would want the job - too old? - is another question.
Fixed that for ya... He's probably driving to Zurich right now, window down ready for his first interview.

England 2018, USA 2022, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
No. Simply no.
Moving the World Cup too the USA in 2022 would tarnish our name in world football for a long time (even the biggest anti-Americans must admit we are improving) and draw into question our motives.
I expect bids from the following countries if a revote is held:
USA
Australia
Mexico
If European nations are given a special exception to the rule about no consecutive world cups in the same confederation, also expect to see:
England
Italy
Spain
Netherlands/Belgium (joint bid, no pun intended)
In my opinion, Australia would win a final round vote over Mexico. Cannot go to Europe twice in a row (interesting to see if this rule is waived), won't be given to US for reasons listed above, and Australia has better infrastructure. I do not see the Asian football confederation putting forth a suitable replacement unless Japan or South Korea go it alone.
Of course it would be a re-vote, But the US would for sure be one of the nominations, and since we finished 2nd in the vote I don't see why we wouldn't have a good shot at it. Mexico? Uhhh, no. Pretty sure Mexico would be last on the list of places to hold a World Cup right now unless you wanted kidnappings galore.

I'm so looking forward to the first pictures of Fat Blatter in the Orange Jump Suit and in chains - Corrupt M'F*cka....He has damged football for far too long - making millions for himslef and his cronies....AND as someone pointed out - he is now co-responsible for the death of 4,000 workers in Qatar - Some nice people they have running the country there alright.

I think that England's motives will also be publicly questioned if they push hard to get either of the 2018 and 2022 world cups awarded to them, plus if they also try to push one of their delegates into one of the main positions inside fifa, blatter and his crooked cronies will state publicly that they wanted rid of him cos they wanted the power themselves For the good of the game the 2018 world cup should still be held in Russia - yes they may have been awarded the world cup on the basis of brown envelopes, but holding it there in the summer of 2018 causes little or no upheaval to European domestic leagues, plus it also might pacify the Russians who are claiming an agenda against them
I think uefa should meet with the other federations and be prepared to support a non European candidate for the job - perception is everything nowadays, and too many football fans in the world claim that Europe has too much power and wealth in the game so it might be prudent to stand back and say that uefa only want to see the right person for the job regardless of nationality
Agreed. Also, considering that England came 4th out of 4, they are my no means a shoe-in if the 2018 revote was to be held. In fact, I'd suggest they'd be less likely to triumph than in 2010. They could easily receive no votes aside from their own.
Don't you just love the arrogance of the English! We do it so well!
Is It Because I Is Black?
Yes, George Weah, it is exactly because you are black that the Daily Telegraph's Jason Burt has decided that you should be president of Fifa. It says as much in the headline: 'The next Fifa president should be black, African and a former player - step forward, George Weah.'
Never mind whether he actually wants the job (Burt admits that ending civil war in Liberia may be somewhat higher on Weah's agenda) or is a suitable candidate for said job, he is black! And Burt has heard of him! Has anybody got his number?
'It is stating the obvious to say it needs someone untainted by his toxic regime and with the determination to scrub this house clean, weed out his cronies - as much as possible - and not only win back public support but also keep Fifa united,' writes Burt, before brushing aside the small matter of Weah publicly declaring himself to be "pro-Blatter". Never mind that, he's black!
'It might also help to have a former player and certainly someone with the sport - and not its politics or money-making opportunities - in his or her heart,' he continues, apparently oblivious to the allegations that Qatari Mohamed bin Hammam, the former FIFA vice-president, paid Weah £30,000 for 'school fees'. Hmmm. Maybe 'being black' might not be enough after all.
If not Weah, then Burt has other suggestions. Why not Burundi FA chief Lydia Nsekera (she's black! And a woman!), Australian lawyer Moya Dodd (surely not black enough?) or, and this is brilliant, Didier Drogba (black, African and almost a former player)?
Drogba? Really? You are suggesting that a 37-year-old footballer with no administrative or political background should be the new Fifa president because he has 'wider social awareness and the understanding to use his fame and profile for the greater good'. Even Burt admits this is a tad 'left-field'. But why not? He is most definitely black.
F**k it, why not Lenny Henry? He's been to Africa. And those Premier Inns will be helluva cheap on expenses.

How about this, one match between England and the USA at a netural venue to decide who hosts 2022. Fancy that or a re-vote?
Blatter is still in charge. He won't go until a re-election takes place over next 10 months.
I still think Russia 2018 will go ahead. After that personally I would like to see the World Cup abandoned in its current form. A concentration on world club football rather than international football. Give the opportunity for growth on domestic leagues rather than the international football arena. When a football loving nation such as Brazil no longer think the world cup is the most important occasion in their lives than international football is dead. We can do without the world cup. No one cares about Fifa rankings, club football is now more important than international football. Fifa needs to restructure, focus on the trends in modern football and more importantly change its culture.

Which gives him and the rest of his corrupt crony *word censored* all the time they need to destroy hard drives/files/paper trails etc....
Surely he should not over see the next election as all that will happen will be he picks his man and gets his followers to back said man and all will stay the same but with a younger model and more discretion.
