NE Derby

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sunderland won 2-1 and Kieran Richardson scored a great goal.
BUT, Joey Barton was pelted with coins and bottles :-P and there was fighting on the pitch after!

Amazingly enough Barton wasn't involved in the fighting afterwards

After last week's fighting against Everton and reading this I really hope we're not returning back to the dark days of football in 80's.

With you there Rebel.. well, to a point, obviously we don't want fighting on the terraces again.

But, if a bit of hatred for the opposition gets a little fire in the belly of the fans... then I'm all for it.

Welcome to hell! 8)

ps - I think it would be funny if the Sp*rs fans brought umbrella's along on wednesday as a dig at the Club Level cowards

"Fighting" against Everton? :meeeow: if you call a few handbags being thrown and a bit of posturing fighting then I spose it was. This would'nt have even been worth a mention in the 70s/80s. Now if you wanted to see fighting then us getting done by wham on the nb fa cup 75 was fighting, us taking the piss at the shit hole in the early 70s was fighting, us taking it to chelsea at the bridge in the late 60s early 70s was fighting, us clearing the home end at Brighton and causing panic about 79 was fighting along with virtually every game played in the league around these times. As a kid I used to watch Southend in the old 3rd and 4th divisions and you'd see far worse there against certain teams than you saw in that minor fracar last week. Those days are in the past, times have changed and they won't come back, not in the same way anyhoo. We probably need a few more days like last week to wake up our sleeping support, we need an edge again that we lost years ago and if it takes a few bindippers getting lary to stir us up a bit then so be it

If the little Geordies spat and the moaning Everton fans stop 10 PHFCs going to football, it's a step in the right direction. :magic_hat:
