"Start me or I will walk away"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

"Start me or I will walk away"

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

The Sun wrote:NICKLAS BENDTNER insists he is happy with life at Arsenal — but has warned he will quit if he fails to become a first-team regular.

The 20-year-old Dane is currently behind Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie in the pecking order.

But Bendtner, who has been linked with Bayern Munich, remains determined to prove he should be one of the first names on Arsene Wenger's team sheet.

The striker said: "It is quite clear that my priority is to play football.

"I know what I want. If it doesn't happen at Arsenal, I will move away from the club.

"I want to spend the whole remainder of my career playing, wherever I am — I want to play solid."

Bendtner's name has also appeared in a number of reports in the Italian media recently.

But the Gunners ace claims London is the only place he wants to be — for now, at least.

He added: "I am not even across all the rumours because I am an Arsenal player and appreciate the club very much.

"I hope I can be here for a long time yet. For me, Arsenal are a dream club."

Would we even notice

Off you go then, you'll find plenty of League one teams need an average player.

All players want to play, and I suppose what bendtner's saying is that he's determined to break into the team, which is a good think as we want hungry players.

Sadly, I'm not convinced he has the quality :?

He doesn't have the hunger either.

I still think he will be a great player, and if things were diffrnet here, then more people would like him.

Unfortuantly he is going to have to take one for the team and let a experianced replacement come in for him.

I will be gutted to see him leave, especially if we sign another useless nobody who dosn't add anything but a few years on to the team.

Yeah, he doesn't seem overly hungry to succeed.

Maybe he's just one of them who plays in a languid style that looks like they're not always trying? :?
- if so, he should feel right at home alongside Song and Diaby

I was more analysing his words, but I think the bottom line is that I really doubt he's going to be Arsenal quality... which in itself is a phrase that is starting to lose meaning

Ah, well. At least, when all fit, we have RvP, Ade, and Eduardo who should be ahead of him in the pecking order, and Vela looks like he'll be a quality forward too... so Bendtner might be on borrowed time anyway

F*cking sell him now before his value drops any further. A year or so ago they were talking about £12m with Milan, Madrid & Chelsea interested… now it’s £5-7m & Spartak Moscow. In another year’s time it’ll just be Cowdenbeath offering us an Egg McMuffin and their second-last Rolo.

Sell him to Celtic for no less than £7m with a big sell-on clause, watch him bang in 30+ goals in a shite league and then when they sell him on for double that we’ll have made £12-£14m. Not bad for a Shetland Pony. We can then use that £14m to double Adebayor’s wages & watch him put in half as much effort! Bargain.

good. its one thing being shit and putting in a lot of effort for the team (adebayors first season) but to be shit and not give a fuck when youre on the pitch is too much. perhaps vela can get some more games now.
