Baptista

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

he scored an overhead kick at real aswel, second goal is also class but he is not a great goalscorer, he is a scorer of great goals.

Yeah, English football never suited him but I think it will reduce our chances by at leat 25 % if he plays against us. He is bound to score the same way it was obvious Defoe would score at the weekend. I can't believe Pompey didn't put a clause in the deal that he coldn't play that game.

:?

we've conceded 24 goals in our 22 league games, so I don't think it's too wise to write "the Beast" off, just yet

Personally, I think an old granny could cause panic in our defence!

Too right ! :(

Baptista looked utterly woeful for us. I see Roma also have Risse :( This is shaping up to be far more difficult than I thought.

I could just see 'The Beast' having a blinder in both legs

I've not been one of the most optimistic on here lately but Roma are 9th in Serie A and have already lost 7 in the league. I've got to believe that Bap will not be enough to put them through.

I sincerely hope you're right Chip.

I shall be there - in Rome - and it will be a real choker if we are sent packing :barscarf:

Yes. Difference is, when he was on Arsenal the team was 10x better than it is now. No more Hleb, Rosicky, Flamini, Gilberto, Henry. Now theres Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner, Song and Eboue (he was there before but not as a RW). So now he is better than 3/4 of the team, before he wasnt.
