Todays atmosphere

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Todays atmosphere

Post by Irish Gooner »

I'd like to hear what people thought of the atmosphere today.
If I'm honest I was expecting a bit better from us with a terrace n'all.

To be honest, I was a little disapppointed with the famous Cardiff atmosphere - don't know what I was expecting, but they seemed a little quiet... maybe the 1:30pm kick off was too early.

As for the Arsenal end... it was ok, but considering it was terraced, I suppose again, I was expected better (and far too many Sp*rs songs for my liking! - I know we hate them, but I thought it was bordering on obsessive... but that's just me, I suppose)

Ah, well - great day, plenty of singing, a good laugh, and the 0-0 didn't spoil it, too much 8)

I must admit I was slightly embarrased by the constant Tottingham songs.

Why the fuck sing to Cardiff "We hate Tottingham, we are the Tottingham haters"?

:?

I know I sound like a *word censored* saying this because I watched it on setanta..
But I thought we were very poor. Easily outsung by the cardiff fans.

I suppose so, but you know... I find that it's the simplest of songs that have the most impact, by singing them LOUD.... over, and over, again!

I used to watch Preston with my brother a few years back, and we'd stand on the Town End at Deepdale, and the chant would start... "David Moyes' Lillywhite Army!.. then everyone would clap their hands or bang on the corrugated iron at the back of the terracing... then the song would be repeated again, and again...

"David Moyes' Lillywhite Army! BANG BANG BANG BANG...
"David Moyes' Lillywhite Army! BANG BANG BANG BANG...

getting louder and louder, for say 5-10mins none stop!

It was amazing, and the place was rocking!

Portsmouth did the same at Fratton Park against Milan... it sounded fantatsic!

Oh for fucks sake Lethal!

Just accept that todays atmosphere was nowhere near what people thought it would be.

You have a point there actually

Im sure we'll hear at Goodison on Wednesday "EVERTON EVERTON EVERTON".
They sing that really loud.

I think acoustics/mikes play apart. Theres meant to be an array of mikes on the edge of the Kop.

You are missing something here though lads!

Preston and Everton are singing about their own team!

All we seem to do is sing about the mugs up the road!
