Why the FA Cup is only half full.

Why the FA Cup is only half full.

Was just thinking this the other day.

Besides the Carling Cup, the FA Cup is probably the least desired piece of silverware for a prem team (proved by what Harry Redknapp said Wednesday).
A champions league spot would make it desirable again, especially for lower teams.

But then again, on an Arsenal note, we're struggling to get to 4th at present, how are we going to consistently make 3rd every year?

The UEFA Cup has been expanded for next season, so I cannot see a Champs League place being allocated to FA Cup winners.

I agree wholeheartedly with the article. The FA Cup is not half full; or, for that matter, half empty - it is completely empty. I'd have been sad at the time had that last minute Cardiff free kick sneaked under the bar but by Monday morning it would have been just a bad dream and by Tuesday completely forgotten, whereas that 1999 semi-final defeat still hurts.
