Hottest Spot on the Planet!

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Not 50 degrees!

It is all about what you are set up for.

I was in Israel and it was 37 and it was great, the buildings there are made for the heat.

Here though, so much concrete in London, it can be humid even when it is only about 17.

Anything over 25 in London is really uncomfortable.

The tube?

Get on the Bakerloo Line and you just start sweating, really nasty.

I was in Cyprus two years ago when it hit 46.

Fucking marvellous, especially if all you need to do is make your way from the patio to the pool every hour or so.

Was a bastard trying to sleep at night though

RAM, I'd take your 40 to 50 degrees.

As long as there is a swimming pool, and a plentiful supply of cold lager. :D

But swimming doesn't help...because where there is water there is sun...and sunburn...

A well air-conditioned house is the best way to go. :barscarf:

I was thinking along the lines of.....

...quick dip in the pool, to cool off, then straight under the sunshade, then straight into a cold lager. Repeat as required :D

Bad side to the weather...worst bushfire conditions in the country's history this weekend.

Victoria took it worst. Last I heard the death count is in the 80's but they think it will eclipse 100. Plus 700 homes have been destroyed so far.

And at the same time, up north in Queensland, there are torrential rains and massive floods.

:(

Shit.

That's terrible about the bush fires.

Any deaths with the floods in Queensland?

Yes I'm safe, the main fire threats are pretty far away from me. NSW was lucky I suppose, nothing developed into anything too dangerous. But it only takes one spark...

I haven't heard anything about deaths due to the floods, but I do know one 5 year old is missing up there, last seen near an overflowing lake. They think he was taken by a crocodile.
