Obafemi Martins
Obafemi Martins
Ok, so the story about us buying Martins seems to have disappeared from the media...... But a friend of mine who is connected to "another London club" says that he's heard from two independent sources that we are definitely buying Martins this week.
If true then you heard it here first and I can claim a scoop!!!
If false then I never believed it anyway......

I normally try not to get involved in this kind of thing, but I've heard a few rumblings too. Not specifically about Martins, but that we are due to make a big(ish) signing pretty soon.
The only transfer I've genuinely known of ahead of time was Pascal Cygan. A steward at Highbury told me we were signing a bald Frenchman and that's all he could tell me. I got my hopes up. We all know how that one turned out.

Well of late I have noticed when there is no talk of a Arsenal transfer in the papers, something will happen ie Thierry to Barca for 3 days in the paper nothing about it and bang he is off!
Then it goes quiet after Arsenal are linked to any forward going for 2 weeks and then it goes quiet and then Eduardo da Silva signs!
Now it seems it has gone quiet again! so maybe just maybe

I'm still being both sensible and funny:

I Hate Hleb has re-surficed - apparently he has been in a mental asylum for a few days due to the shock of not getting the moderators position;

We started a 'South Park' theme on the 'Manc Invasion' thread and have allocated parts to forum regulars;

Herd and rambo are having a verbal fist-fight which could develop into something more on the 'Arsenal Anthem' thread;

Kaqak is still, erm...shall we say, giving us an interesting insight into the Kosovan culture and mind-set;

Another pun-filled battle has taken place over on the 'Man Utd thread in the further discussion forum. This time it is Marajuana orientated;

Young Ben-Gooner is going away for a week;
Oh, and have I already mentioned that I was being really funny and sensible, as usual?

Anyway, I think that's about all. Did I leave out anything, guys?

You forgot to tell him Arsene has signed a new 10 year deal after David Dein came home armed with £200 million big ones for him to spend!
This then lead to Robinho Tevez Babel and Denise Vasn Outen all being signed up on life long deals.
Other money was spent on a carbon freezing machine ala star wars/Han Solo. This has allowed us to take DNA from old gods such as Adams Viera Petit Radford and Brady. Exact replicas will now be genetically built of these guys and will be kept in freeze until match days!
Up the road the Spuds have replaced Matin Jol with Roy Walker of Catchphrase fame as their new manager. He was meant to be joined by David Pleat as Director of Football until Mr Pleat got caught kerb crawling again! As this turned out to be his 47th offence he has been sentenced to 30 years hard labour in a state prison in Alabama.
In another suprising twist it has turned out there is an agreement between the two clubs which forces Spuds to give us any player we deem good enough to wear the glorious red n white. As we have had nothing from them this has been deemed contractual failure on their side and the Premier League have imposed a ban on Spuds buying any players apart from Torquay Utd reserve team players! Also Robbie Keane has been forced to join the under 11 Seven Sisters Gymnastics club to improve his school playground tumbling!
Quite frankly I have no idea how ECD forgot all this!
All in all tho you aint missed much!

I just naturally assumed that All Arsenal 1886 was enquiring about what was happening with the regular lads on the forum, not with Arsenal, because past experience would have told him what to expect from the club.

I thought it would be funny to give All Arsenal 1886 a round-up of forum issues and debate rather than the non-existent transfer signings. Your first reply was also extremely funny and just added to the whole thing. My second post was just to thank you and inform you of that fact by being sarcastic - while at the same time trying to be witty.

It obviously didn't work.
