Club or Country?
This is mostly about the whole Jamie Carragher quiting England to prolong his Liverpool career row.
1st point i would like to make is Carragher his one of very few players who has been with one club all his pro Career, ths being somthing we talked about on another thread so i believe he should be congratulated on that alone.
2nd point is quiting Country for Club. Carragher believes he can prolong playing for his beloved liverpool by two more years.
I'm on Carragher's side with this one, he was made 5th in the pecking order for centre-back behind Terry, Ferdinand, Woodgate and King. why he's behind Woodgate and King i'll never know, i still think Sol Campbell should be ahead of them two. Also i think Carragher should be ahead of that Brainless drug taking dope head Rio.
Carragher was also played out of position at RB and at one point was 2nd choice behind Dyer for that position, Dyer being a midfield player who isn't great in midfield let alone defence.
So was Carragher right to quit England?
One things for sure he is committed to Liverpool, Arsenal could do with one or two players like that.

Support of a national team only is for those who are not really fans of the sport but only of their country, regardless of what they are playing/doing.
I see it over here, as soon as Australia made the World Cup, everyone bought merchandise etc and overnight became football/soccer fans who expected Australia to do well in the World Cup just because they are good at any other sport they play.
I personally follow Ireland, as I was an Irish citizen before I was an Australian one, but only secondary to Arsenal. (Of course!)
International teams don't play enough to warrant supporting them primarily, but when they do play it is good to watch, and when the country you follow does well it is easier to give it to supporters of other countries as you quite obviously come from that country. (Whereas with clubs people change depending on how well they are doing at the time, and will claim to be devout followers of whoever wins the league each season.)

Tried to post this earlier but our servers went and did one, so lost it.
Anyway, I agree - club before country. I love my country and cheer them on but I love Arsenal more. Every Time.
Had a run in with an Irish Celtic dick here a few years ago. He was "offended" by me wearing a "British club jersey" in our local!!
I swear to God!
It nearly kicked off when I informed him that Celtic were Scottish and thus British.
He, in turn, informed me that Celtic were an Irish side (you couldn't make it up
) and that if I required a slap to prove it then he would be forthcoming.
My mate then duly informed him that I'd been doing kick boxing training since I was 15 or so and that, in his opinion, said slap was likely to get responded to with a bit of a pasting.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a thug or a fighter, (always been more of a lover
) but due to said training I can take care of myself if need be.
Celtic boy then stormed off in a bit of a huff... the twat.

After reading DB10Gooners 'encounter' with the Celtic supporter, I propose a new A-Team be set up from the following forum regulars:
DB10Gooner - a.k.a The Karate Kid; Definately the older one whose name I can't remember!!
Kaqak - Our (slightly de-ranged?) Kosovan gun-owning, fire-fighting architect friend (Murdoc)
Tony Saunders - Can mould his personality & change his disguise to fit in anywhere with ease (Face)
I Hate Hleb - Respect his authoritha!! (Mr. T)
If ever I get into a punch-up, I know who I will be calling to help me!!
