I'm sorry but Babel is just a Dutch version of Theo Walcott and I know who I rather have!
We don't want to be like Chelsea buying players just to stop other teams having them!

Another one bites the dust!!
Just seems to be the story of our season,
but to add to an earlier post,he might be
a Dutch version of Walcott but he would
have been a class addition to the squad, and
thats the whole point, its about the strength
of your squads and ours is as lightweight
as fuck, anybody with half a brain can see that!!

you may see the squad as lieght weight at the moment but how many wingers and forwards do we have? Also with Martins coming in??? I think we need to strengthen at the Back more we need another Centre half at least this is where we have struggled other the past 2 seasons key players being injured. and I would argue we need another left back

Agree with you about the defence needing strengthening,
have to say not convinced Gallas as good as was made
out to be at Chelscum, also Senderos, well what can I
say about him? I don't think my vocabulary can stretch
far!! Have to slightly disagree with you about the midfield
situation as I personally don't think we have any wide
players at the club, they're all central players, hence the
difficulty in getting behind teams at home,it can become
a tad congested in the middle of the park at times, also
unfortunatley they all seem to be shot shy which has
been a real problem for us last season.

Hang on I think the defence is ok!

RB Sagna Eboue Hoyte? Gilbert and Flamimi maybe

LB Gael Troare and maybe Flamini

CB Kolo Gallas Djorou (star in the making) Senderos if we are desperate and Bert19 can play there fine as seen last season!

Pace wide is what is needed and a centre forward with a bit of ooomph!

Gus cant agree with you on the centre backs. The partnership of Toure and Gallas just didn"t work and that was plain to see last season. Neither one of them is good in the air. Also Toure will be missing for 6 weeks in Jan/Feb.If we have to rely on Senderos(the bastard son of Cygan) God help us. And Gilbero is not a centre back, did you see how he struggled up at Everton when he played there. No we do need another centre half.

very true donaldo, Gilberto isnt even close to being a respectable centre back, top midfielder but he seemed to confuse everythingwhen he played at the back last season - Our best Centre back in the air is Senderos but he has other footballing problems that kinda cancel that out shall we say  whos available whos good in the air?

the answer to the above is right under our noses...Johan Djourou. He really could be the next TA and the man were looking for. He's big, strong, good in the air, strong in the tackle, calm in possession. Watch him closely, HE moves attackers around, unlike our other cb's who simply follow them. He doesn't pull out of any challenges and would be a threat at corners-something which we have severly lacked since paddy left.

Kolo and Djourou...fuck gallas.

Sounds alright to me, Djorou is a good young player, give him a go if Gallas wants to keep talking the way he is (in public) then let him go.

Would like to see Djourou given a chance as think he will be a super player in years to come.

We still need a bit more strength and Gilberto is not the answer.

It was players playing out of position that lost us some points last year.
