I think that tune is superb, one of my favourite tunes from the last few months, musically and lyrically.

Bit like art I guess, some go for the modern stuff, some for the old masters.

It is subjective.

fair enough quartz, each to their own.

the older lot think our music is shit, cos they are the older lot and havent grown up with it. the younger lot think that older people's music is boring, cos we are into all this stuff today and not the old stuff that was around when you were kids. so fair enough

Except that hip Hop heads lie myself DO listen to a lot of older stuff, especially Jazz, Soul and Funk, as we plunder it for samples!

We like it in it's own right too though.

Depends what you mean.

I can name hundreds of great groups from before the 80's.

Try James Brown, Sly and Family Stone, Parliament, Dyke and the Blazers, Lafayette Afro Rock Band, Lonnie Liston Smith, Weather Report, etc for great tunes.

I don't think 'modern' vs 'classic' has anything to do with it.

The majority of music on the mainstream market right now is shit anyway.

The best of modern music doesn't have a hope in hell of getting good radio play and advertisement.

I'm still young, I suppose, and I don't mind some older music. (70's, 80's)
