Memory Lane Who remembers Badger fm the North Bank Highbury?

Memory Lane Who remembers Badger fm the North Bank Highbury?

Post by franksav63 »

I posted something the other day, (on a different thread) but it may have got lost among other postings, but who remembers Badger, he used to stand at the front of the North Bank, Highbury, he used to wear a black coat adorned with hundreds of Arsenal badges, with his wife, (the one with the flag), during the 60's 70's and 80's?

My mate and I, gave him a lift, one night, from an evening away game, and he used to live at Seven Kings (near Ilford, Essex).

Is he still around now?

What has happened to him?

This thread is one for the older fans among us.....

I asked this question a while ago, unfortunately without success.

John and Mary Badger. Both seemed to have disappeared overnight. I can't remember the last time I saw them. I know that John had his coat of badges taken off him but some ****, but it after a flurry of punches from some of Arsenal's finest it was soon retrieved.

Like you, I'd be interested to know what happened to them. Wonder if anyone from the supports club would know.

Yes, anyone of a certain age  remembers badger and his missus, always at the front of the NB directly behind the goal and they always had the Union Jack flag with the cannon in the middle hanging over the small fence there. Any of you young whippersnappers here can google or youtube any old Arsenal game from the 70s and look at any goals scored at the NB and spot the flag behind the goal and that's them  No idea what happened to them but it's nice to think that they both retired to Oz and are both still following us from afar there, if anyone really does know for sure it'd be great to hear what they are up to now.
