22 people die at Ivory Coast Game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Someone should feel guilty over that. Surely after so many incidents like this in the past, something as simple as getting a crowd into and out of a stadium can be managed without fuss.

And, before anyone else can say it, yes, 22 dead, and Eboue still lives.

I went to an ACN qualifier once between The Gambia and Burkina Faso once. The place was a nightmare. I've never been so scared at a football match in all my life.

Even worse if you try walking through!

Drivers are mental. If you want to cross the road the best thing to do is get a taxi

Tried it! We drove first day and decided never again. Walked the second day and felt very intimidated and unsafe (this was July 2002) so we did everything after that through "official" channels with armed police escort. Amazing city of incredible contrast from the worst slums I've ever seen on the outskirts to the beautiful central districts where the insanely rich live...

I saw the most bizarre thing I've ever seen when I was in Egypt. Even more bizarre than Rebel getting a round in

There was a camel tied up under a lean-to nxt to a house. That in itself wasn't bizarre, they're everywhere. I bet they don't all have 'go faster stripes' painted along them though

Maddest thing I saw there was a bloke sitting on a donkey, stopped at a traffic light. He had a sheep draped over the front of the donkey with him but his wife and 2 kids stood behind him on the ground. The wife had a sun umbrella held up over the guy and the sheep, while herself and the kids baked in the 45 degree sunshine... Our guide explained that the sheep would have been their family's prized possession. Real eye opener...

If it wasn't for the 45 degree heat thing I would have thought you were talking about Kerry. :D
